I never said Sachin scored cheap runs ... you are again misinterpreting what I said. And My definition of effective runs are different from what yours are. Look at the list of other guys referred by Mariyam... all others are finishers of games for India. Thats Why I call their runs a little more effective. I never said Tendulkars were less important or cheap Runs. Infact I even said in the same post that Tendulkar is the best ODI batsman we have had .. in case you like Mr.Chawani or Two Paise (as said by Sourabh) have decided to completely ignore that line. When I consider someone our best batsman I certainly am not saying that he scores cheap runs.

I really, really dont understand why trolls are being given a free rein on this forum nowadays. Every thread ends up being thrash and pure trolling in minutes. If people like DTW and Sir John had been curbed initially now we wouldnt have low-lives, attention seeking prats spoiling each and every thread. Now, whenever I want serious cricket discussion, I go to PP. Here I come just for trolling. Come on Mods, earn you awesome pay which ICF give you for moderation, improve the quality of this forum. Once this forum was so good, it was much better than cricinfo, etc in terms of pure cricket discussions and analysis. Now we only have trolls with one-liners in every thread, thinking they are so witty and clever, doing what every other idiot with an internet connection does. Hand out some warnings, clean up some posts and make this a cricket discussion forum again. This is the only quality(?) Indian forum I ever knew, make it the best cricket forum again. Over years the quality of a forum is supposed to improve but moderation plays a big part in that. You cannot have mod powers without also the responsibilty of using it wisely and strictly, even on your friends. Or this forum is gonna die a quick death Whenever you have a quality thread you see so many of the old-timers posting, Lurker, Mariyam, Outsider, Ganeshran, all can be found whenever a meaningful discussion happens. On the other hand, most of the other threads you see the usual set of suspects trolling and others dropping out of it and avoiding them. Why is trolling encouraged so much on this forum to the extent that every new comer things thats the best way to get popular here and each tries in their own fail way to just troll and troll derailing each thread

Welcome back Yuvraj! One the greatest champs and fighter has returned back to cricket from a really difficult time in his life. Yuvraj has always been the man to do it for india especially on the big stage. He has had a lot of ups and downs in his career and things have always not been perfect. But he wears his passion and heart on his sleeve and you got to love him for that. I have big respect for him and it has grown with his comeback. He could not walk after his treatment for long and he played in chennai heat under pressure. You could see he was tiring and things did not go like a fairytale because life is not a script. It felt hair raising watching him on the field and i could not stop feeling emotion. We salute you Yuvraj and may you rock the party for long!!! (mods please dont merge it with the other yuvraj marketing gimmick thread)

Not the correct decision to play him so soon. Should have played few months of domestic cricket and tested his match fitness. He is just 30, has atleast 5-6 years of cricket left in him - whats the need to hurry his return and risk another injury.

But its pathetic that he is using it to sell himself in ads for insurance products instead of doing something constructive to help others fight it. He's a cancer survivor & if companies are approaching him & paying him for his ads..what's wrong with that, if the corrupt Indian govt is not bothered to do anything for people diagnosed with cancer..then why do you expect him to just give away his earnings into some charity...btw he's not the top cricketer in India when it comes to endorsements...don't get too emotional btw...wtf have you done for the needy in your life :icflove:

I work for a club of handicapped people and kids and work on entertainment shows where they get to show their skills and raise funds. I do stage shows for free for community fund raisers too. But I don't advertise it! I don't try to benefit off it. You either do something for money and fame or for your heart's satisfaction for doing something really good for a cause. So don't take me on that count Pal. And only pathetic people sell their 'suffering' for money and belittle the cause and the people who suffer it for money. It's shallow. Plain and simple. Being a top player and a role model, Yuvraj is actually cheapening the cause with these ads. Like leeching off sympathy. being it's brand ambassador he could have gotten them to change the concept into something more meaningful and stronger. But thats that I suppose.

It means I earned something and donated it for example. I am just another guy working for a living running through overpacked buses and trains daily and can only do so much. But I am happy and proud with what little I can manage for these causes. I try to raise funds and advertise their cause in my work in advertising. Can my efforts be measured in money alone? If I am not a Birla, Ambani or a Bachchan who can shell out a lot of money, does it mean my heart is not in the right place? Can the disadvantaged 's affection be bought by money or by love? Whats the point of charity if you just sign checks and gift away money to advertise it for social publicity, but don't spend time with such marginalized people and don't understand their pain or share? I work with these handicapped people and they are so disadvantaged. Their families lead really painful times and spend so much time to care for them and make them feel a part of the society and individual. Yet they try to rise above it and try to be like normal guys without giving up on an inch of self respect. When I do shows with them as co-stars it is on another level. A guy who can't walk or can't stand up tries to dance in his wheel chair and feels confident about it. Their zeal for life infects you. Makes you realize how tough life can be or how lucky you are the way you are. How insignificant you can feel. They inspire you and teach you to be humble. They never complain. They never cry about it. We 'normal' guys are definitely inferior to them where being truely human, fighting or being tough matters. Ek baar kissi aisi sanstha mein jaake apni aankhon se toh kuch dekhke kuch mehsoos toh karo bolne se pehle. Ek poora din bitaao inn logon ke saath tab samajh mein aayega. This video would have been inspirational if it didn't come in with a message as a brand ambassador. Yuvraj has pretty much pissed on it with these ads. I lost all respect I had for him after seeing this commercial.
