It was an unusual selection, though, for Yuvraj hasn't played a game since chemotherapy ate at his strength but, by all accounts, left his resolve untouched. Ordinarily you would have thought that he needed a couple of games to show if the strength had returned and if he was hitting a ball well enough to keep another player out. It was clearly an emotional selection but also one of solidarity with someone who had played outstandingly for India. I don't think either Australia or, in the present dispensation, England would have picked him as quickly but Indians are an emotional people and you will hardly find anyone contesting his selection.

everyone likes a good comeback story and predictably people will try to use it. But hopefully more good than bad will come out of it. Yuvraj wants to raise cancer awareness and that is one of the issues he is talking about a lot. I hope he does well also. even though with the swagger he has UV is one of the more likeable cricketers. he is combative (remember 6 6s) but not petty and wins the respect and friendship of opponents (check out his banter with KP on twitter where both of them accuse each other of being pie-chuckers). I remember his smart reply to Afridi's bade dil comments. in general have never seen him involved in controversies. even though Dhoni is much junior to him he has worked well under him ( UV definitely had captaincy aspirations but he has not let anything come out in public domain to hamper team unity)

It is ridiculous to pick Yuvraj so early after his rehabilitation. He is an awesome LOI player, but has just been back from a serious illness and should give his body some time to come back to the level that is required to play sports. He should have played atleast 6-8 months of domestic cricket, made sure he is completely fit again and then come back to the international stage.

Greatest ODI player ever. Then comes SRT' date= then comes Viv. In future it will be Mandy. I mean has anyone averaged 90 with bat, 25 with ball in a World Cup (only relevant tournament) before?
