PaceAttack Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Raj Thackeray interview: The chief secretary of Bihar recently wrote a letter that stated that action would be taken against police personnel who arrested a rioter involved in desecration of martyrs' memorial at Azad Maidan. In retaliation, you said if hurdles were raised in the investigation process, you would be forced to declare Bihari migrants in Maharashtra infiltrators. A: I have some numbers with me on the crime rate in the city. These are records maintained by the Mumbai city police. First, let us begin with the rally that took place on August 11 by a group of Muslims and its aftermath. The issue at hand involved a series of incidents. Media vans were damaged and journalists were hurt. The man who was later caught turned out to be from Bihar. This man desecrated the martyrs' memorial and fled to Bihar to escape the consequences. I don't understand why everyone runs away to Bihar. Aren't they aware of places like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka? In Mumbai, in the year 2012 alone, there have been 19,000 criminal cases registered between January and September. In most of these cases, people have come from states like UP and Bihar, committed crimes and then left. But why is there so much focus on Bihar? Because these people hide there (after committing crimes in Mumbai). Don't people from Gujarat also come to Maharashtra? A: There are many people who come from Gujarat, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. What I am trying to say is that it is not only about coming to the state and working here. There are so many second and third generation non-Marathis, but give me one instance where Gujaratis have created hangama in the state. You are creating stereotypes. A: These people (politicians?) should give this a thought. I have your comments (against Asha Bhosle) with me. You raised questions on her without a clue or a reason? Was it without any reason? Why did you say something similar to what you had said when Qasab was arrested -- Countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh are waiting to target us. You are comparing Runa Laila and Abida Parveen with Qasab. I think you people do not read my statements properly and therefore misunderstand them. Stars like Abida Parveen and Runa Laila are judges on a show but the artists arriving here are coming from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Tell me, are Asha Bhosle and Lata didi allowed to go to Pakistan? How can political parties decide a channel's content? Then a channel shouldn't decide a political party's content or message. Who decides it then? Will news channels take decisions for our country? For your TRPs, you will twist what I say and incite people. You mean if you provoke people it is fine, but if I am speaking the truth, you will say that Raj Thackeray is making inflammatory speeches? Well, I don't think we can reach a consensus on this issue. Well, moving on to the next question. If Shiv Sena and your Maharashtra Navnirman Sena join hands, the politics in Maharashtra can change. So, when and how will this happen? God knows! You are avoiding my question. There are no such plans as of now. You have to understand a few things. On the one side, it is about family and on the other it is politics. Recently, when Balasaheb Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray fell ill, I felt I should stand by them. Keeping politics aside, these are family issues. But, when it comes to politics, then its not about just about me and Balasaheb, it's also about many other people. In an earlier interview, you had told me that if Balasaheb takes a step forward, you will take 100 to meet him midway. This thing is not as simple as it looks. It was a very painful decision to leave the party where I started my political career. But there is mutual love and respect here. It was never regarding personal property as far as I know. The point is that the political differences did exist between us. There were a lot of issues, please don't remind me of those times. The respect that existed for Balasaheb then, exists even now. Did he tell you anything when you met him. No, it was a very generic conversation regarding Uddhav's health. Nothing regarding politics? No, nothing regarding it. Can it (merger) happen in the future? I don't know. Regarding the 2014 elections, here is a straight question -- will you join hands with the Sena? I know politicians are not trusted, but believe me I have not given it a thought. But you are not against it also? I have nothing in my mind as of now. Tell me how has the evolution been in the past four-five years? Let me tell you one thing. I never have had any personal issue with anyone. You might say that Raj Thackeray easily loses his temper, so be it. But I lose my temper only for that very moment, just relating to that very situation. habPJxneGyw ZBJ84bBiho8 jhSMcZmmyh4
G_B_ Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 fantastic interview Raj charismatic as ever. The mns and sena should join hands. Leave Udhav to operate behind the scenes and Raj to spearhead the speeches. In turn Aditya Thakarey should be the heir apparent.
PaceAttack Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 ^^^Absolutely...I think Udhav is not as active as he used to be after his heart problem. Raj should take over the mantle from Balasaheb, Raj is the right person to carry the fire brand politics.
Yoda-esque Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 No doubt he is very charismatic and extremely shrewd. He can influence masses. But is he the right person? I don't think so.
G_B_ Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 No doubt he is very charismatic and extremely shrewd. He can influence masses. But is he the right person? I don't think so. he has a very good record on building urban infrastructure. The shiv sena Achilles heel has always been rural farming policies. That is where somebody like Munde from the BJP will come in. The bottomline should be simple, leave the sena for urban issues and infra. BJP should stick to rural areas and agriculture. Whats not reported in the mainstream media is Raj's plan to bring connectivity to maharashtra via high speed rail corridors. Raj T also recognises that the metro is the key to mumbai in the future. His plan is simply. Auction off the land in BKC (about 400-500 acres). Use the proceeds to built an underground metro line from the western suburbs to colaba and from bandra to kurla to navi mumbai, and from thane to colaba in the east. The fact is the congress ncp have ben abysmal for infra in urban mumbai. Mumbai metro cant get 11.4km or lines built in about 4 years now. That is pitifully slow. Navi mumbai airport is not started. Pune metro no. Pune BRTS a failure. so in effect Raj T has a fantastic infra related policy. What he is lacking is an agricultural policy. However considering he will concentrate on urban areas in nashik pune and mumbai for now he is fine. But he needs to expand into agriculture if he wants to be a king instead of a kingmaker.
G_B_ Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 ^^^Absolutely...I think Udhav is not as active as he used to be after his heart problem. Raj should take over the mantle from Balasaheb' date=' Raj is the right person to carry the fire brand politics.[/quote'] udhav was never really a politician. It was Raj who inherited the fire of Bal. The fact is infighting ruined the sena. You should have had Raj providing the speeches Udhav creating policy and Narayan Rane providing muscle. While in the BJP sena government Gadkari Munde should have taken care of agriculture with Mahajan looking at maharashtra from a national politics POV. Its unfortunate Mahajan died the way he did. He was somebody who had a knack of passing key resolutions and i am sure would have soothed Raj from forming the MNS or inducted him within the BJP.
Tiger80 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 If BJP will ally itself with Raj Thackerey in future then it will be political suicide for BJP in UP and Bihar.Apart from JDU ,many UP Bihari leaders of BJP's will leave BJP ..
Sachin=GOD Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Raj Thakrey is the perfect example of a leader our country does not need.
Crookbond Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 He is conveniently equating Mumbai to Maharashtra - chewtiya!
CSK Fan Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Tell me, are Asha Bhonsle and Lata Di allowed to go to Pakistan? The ignorant idiot doesnt even know that Indian artists are allowed to go to Pakistan. Recently many Indian artists including Kailash Kher went to Pakistan and recieved a very warm welcome. The Shiv Sena and Raj are our own versions of Lap topi wala only more dangerous as they command power thanks to people like the OP
Crookbond Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Also, he's like a kid - Tu Kaun Hai? Mein Koi nahi hu toh tu kaun hai! :haha:
