A couple of shcokers by the ref, but given how much that has gone Barcas way over the years its hard to feel too sorry. Barca paid the price for poor transfers over the summer- same as last year- defensive cover has been required for a long long time now. Puyol is a legend but is injury prone now they absoultely required centre halves not makeshift converted def mids. Chose to buy Song, who is not Barca class a midfield player let alone a defender. Someone like Vertonghen would have been perfect for them, been saying that for years now. Great on the ball good in the air and reader of the game. They should have got Brazilian Dede from Vasco, he has moved to Cruzeiro now. Playing Messi through the middle has got them and him lots of goals but it means they are too reliant on him and instances like yesterday where he was not fit and kept getting crowded off the ball they pay the price. A revertion to the formation with Messi on the right of a front three would not have been bad idea- it will spread goals around the team...and they will still score as many just not all from Messi...for me Tello, Villa, Messi would work well...Villa through the middle, he will score given the chances.... Not sure what Vilanova was doing with his subs... Fabregas and Villa or Tello should have been on at half time or not long into 2nd half. He left it till the 80th minute. Xavi is not the player he was, Fabregas should start in the 2nd leg.

Dont think Guardiola will try to change this team into a tiki taka bore fest.Sure they can play possesion football (Like Juve 2nd leg) but they are much more rounded team than Barca and Guardiola shouldnt try to change too much

First choice CB? Dont think so.Dante have been a revelation this season and Boeteng has been solid all season.Van Buyten may need replacing this though. As for Lewandowski there is no way in hell BVB will sell him after the Gotze fiasco. It will be interesting where Pep will use Gotze next season.Have a sneaky feeling Gotze will be used as a false no.9 like Messi.If thats the case they dont need any more strikers.Otherwise do need to replace Pizzaro or Gomez

no,i dont think fabregas should start,he slows down the tempo of barca,the only change for the 2nd leg is villa in for sanchez,but i think villa had a fallout with the club so he wont most probably..messi is not fully fit but should play the 2nd leg,barca should rest most of the players vs bilbao on saturday
