Trichromatic
In this day and age people still buy that whole North-Indian-Punjabi aggression?? :beee::beee: Ravi Shastri does. Probably that's why he said earlier this year (or probably last year) that Bhajji should play Australia series as he can get under their skin even though he has never performed there. Link to comment
Tiger80
It becomes chicken-egg situation now. You want fast bowlers to prop up on their own in this country which keeps supporting Rainas of this world? Become world beater on their own and then see no support? Seriously how does that work? It is not like Zaheer did not get any support ,he too had many Ads.May be not as succesful as Dhoni or Yuvraj but still earned plenty .So there is support By the way how about the England series that we won overseas thanks to Zaheer and RP. Once they were back did they start making as much money as the batsmen?? I am talking about heroics, like Pakistan made 330 in Asia cup and Kohli played heroic knock to defeat them as he played when India needed 340 in 40 overs to stay alive in Australia. Can't remember any match when we needed to defend 200 in very important match and any bowler played a heroic part. Also here is another comparision Yuvraj and VVS shine almost at same time yet Yuvraj was blue eyed boy of ad world while VVS get fewer ads.The difference between two was yuvraj an ODI specialist while VVS test specialist. so we can also say that specialist test batsmen don't get enough support as the ODI or T20 specialist In this day and age people still buy that whole North-Indian-Punjabi aggression?? :beee::beee: Regionalism works in India .One reason I heard that Dhoni started earning more than Sachin because he was a small towner and small town boys saw him as their role model after his T20 world cup win. The question is rather simple boss. DO we support our fast bowlers. I think not. By the way we also have had ads from Steve Waugh, KP etc. There could always be examples to show the opposite argument? We don't support our fast bowlers as much as we support batsmen but still it is no excuse for youngsters for not picking fast bowling. If ad world is going to be criteria then everybody should follow Yuvraj and become hard hitter rather than test specialist Link to comment
maniac
The only bowler who did get a lot of ads and media attention in recent times was Sreeshanth....now only if he had fulfilled his potential  Harbhajan Singh is obviously another one Link to comment
Tendulkar_Bhai
Matthew Hoggard Steven Harmison Freddie Flintoff Stuart Broad Andy Caddick Then the fast medium pacers: Jimmy Anderson Tim Bresnan (Trundling for some strange reason at the moment) Chris Tremlett Graeme Onions Jones And the 90+ bowlers who are either young or are crap, but fast nonetheless. Stuart Meaker Ajmal Shazhad Sajid Mahmood Ryan Sidebottom Liam Plunkett The top two lists are all fast bowlers who are/were of international standard and can bowl at or sustain 90+ MPH. Whereas me move to India...here are the following 'fast bowlers' India have produced. Fast: Yadav Aaron - Who is always dead. Ishant Sharma - Who really falls under the "Fast but young/crap catergory" That's about it. :hysterical: this thread is not about 3rd rate England TEST bowlers. The likes of Jimmy, Broad and Ashes Flintoff got terrorised by Tendulkar and Sehwag in ODIs. India has at lots of young fast bowlers with potential like Ahmed, Nechin, Pankaj, Aaron, Yadav, VPS, IShant, Awana, Tyagi, Shukla Link to comment

Ultimate_Game
As if we used to churn out fast bowlers for fun earlier :giggle: Folks need to remember that we are the nation that had Gavaskar open the bowling to take the shine off the new ball so that the spin quartet could operate... and that too away from home :haha: We are the nation whose 2nd best pace bowler after Kapil is probably Srinath or Zaheer, which is a depressingly sad state of affairs.
