King Tendulkar Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Terrible captaincy by Dravid today. Needs a thread to analyse it. Picking of aggy a disrace. Whats that all about? Bowling of part time slow bowlers at death just crazy. Sachin getting one over in slog over. Yuvraj a part time slow bowler given the last over and getting hit for 5 sixes in a row. Nuts captaincy! What was Dravid on?
Anakin Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 One of the dumbest moves ever made by RD to bring in yuvi for the last over
coverpoint Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 One of the dumbest moves ever made by RD to bring in yuvi for the last over Hind sight being 20 20 and all that ... but Young Anakin ... whom would u have brought in? ZK and the spinners were bowled out Aggy .... nothing needs to be said Choice was between SG, YS. SG had just given 14-15 in the last over he had bowled. Ofcourse the move did not work ... but the thought must have been to take the pace off the ball

Also did SG have a shocker the last couple of times he brought in SRT to bowl the last over? Just simple questions.
Anakin Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 So you would have brought in Agarkar? Also did SG have a shocker the last couple of times he brought in SRT to bowl the last over? Just simple questions. Powar had one over left, so did SCG, both better option than Yuvi Aggy would still be a better choice than Yuvi for that matter
yoda Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 When they were 4 down after the collingwood run out I was thinking may be time to bring Aggy and/or Zak with Chawla to put pressure on Shah. Instead he continued with Ganguly and then brought in Powar. Yes his captaincy today was quite retarded.
coverpoint Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Powar had one over left, so did SCG, both better option than Yuvi Aggy would still be a better choice than Yuvi for that matter My apologies... I did not think Powar had any overs left. My Bad. Yes it was a Rumbo Dumbo move! I would never have brought in Agarakar!!!
beetle Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 The fault lies with the good for nothing ducj aggy. A bowler whom the captain can't trust. Although he could have got pawar....but who knows....in his form mascaranas could have done the same with him.

Unlikely, regular bowlers know a trick or two more than part-timers, barring aggy obviously.
Predator_05 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 hmmm. When Dravid plays 5 bowlers, he gets stick. When Dravid plays 4 bowlers (thereby having to rely on part-timers) he gets stick. So he gets stick either way. Damn. I'd hate to be an Indian captain...:haha:

Anakin Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Saurav Ganguly has done it before too. Remember the ICC Champions Trophy match vs PAK ? Yes, but how often you see that? Always a risky option, specially given they already knew that guy can hit and there was another over from powar at least.
beetle Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 If pawar had bowled and got hit around then people would say...why didn't he try a part timer...that sometimes works . It's life . Sh*it happens!
Anakin Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 If pawar had bowled and got hit around then people would say...why didn't he try a part timer...that sometimes works . It's life . Sh*it happens! Not really, that'd be bad luck. No matter how much you love him, he's a cra.ppy captain.
veer Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 dravid and yuvi both are equally at the fault.. yuvi is an experienced player not a newbie. . and that marchenas is 6 match old player.. soo yuvi should have put the mind into his bowling and shouldnt have given 5 lolipops.
