If you just focus of the faults of one while the strengths of others, clearly you are not gonna make the right decision. Think again and be smart next time.

I can fill in the no. 6 or 8 spot adequately - the one ear-marked for the great all-rounders like Yuvi or Jaddu. Plus I can sleep as well as Sehwag in the slips while dropping sitters. Batting wise I can't do any worse than our no. 4 or no. 6 and as for bowling surely I wouldn't be any worse than Bhajji or Ashwin :) Pls pls vote for me and as a bonus I will kick that fatso Fletcher in the @$$ everytime I see him in the dressing room or team balcony :two_thumbs_up: That in itself would be more contribution that half the team put together

I think kohli is a alternative but he don't have any experience.... and the support that dhoni getting from bcci,i don't think that dhoni is gonna out from captainship before the series with AUS.....

And fans are a part of this problem especially since they are ones who make those players with 2-3 good test matches as world's best and only to suddenly make worse ever in the matter of few days. You really need to learn how to debate properly with solid reasoning rather than some childish antics.

Complex problem.2-3 Test matches which world are u from.Shewag,gambhir,dhoni,laxman,zak,bhajji,dravid ishant have played 600-700 tests between them .We have been hammered 4-0 ,4-0 now 2-1 at home.Even steve waugh or lloyd would have been sacked.There is just no basis of any debate on captaincy.

vijay50 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I think Gambhir till the series against south africa.If this happens we might see Rahane play as 6th batsman and both Sehwag and Gambhir will start performing well. Right now Sehwag and Gambhir are underperforming under Dhoni.Under Gambhir's captaincy if Dhoni performs poorly he might be dropped and replaced by Saha.So chances are that Dhoni might do well also.

Right now these are the only 3 players that are guaranteed a spot 2 years from now. Gambhir is garbage and shouldnt even be on the team. Sachin is finished. Zaheer is an awful example to the younger players and is now too old. Sehwag would be exciting but i doubt they'd improve. Dhoni got the team in this mess in the first place. Pujara can concentrate 100% on tests and running the team similarly for Yadav who hasnt proven to be very strong in shorter formats.

Theres more chance of so called young guns losing their place in that time than showing leadership skills, how are they going to show that without becoming the captain
