Sure there isn't a whole-hearted acceptance of immigrants from each of them but I doubt there's any other country where a random person of xyz race/ethnicity can blend in as easily.

In fact they go out of the way to accommodate people from different cultures. That being said, the level of public discourse in America is incredibly stupid for a developed country. Evolution vs Creationism is a legitimate public debate, the solution to gun violence is seen as buying more guns. You have mainstream politicians claiming that the female body has ways to shut down pregnancy in case of "legitimate" rape. The way Americans see their own country is amusing - that of people fighting for democracy, peace and freedom of expression everywhere in the world. Which would be true except for minor details like Hiroshima, Nagasaki, dictators whose regimes have been spruced up, democracies and communist governments which have been brought down, invading countries resulting in hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths, human rights violations in secret prisons etc etc.

Its not like Manmohan Singh was the frontrunner before his appointment. Same goes for 2014, if UPA continues with a majority, its up to Soniaji (and not the people of India) to pick the PM.

He was re-elected after making this policy statement, there can't be anything more pro-muslim than this. Is this possible in Bangladesh or pakistan vis-a-vis Hindus? In fact, even in the US, had Obama made such a statement regarding Blacks, he would have been battered day and night over it.
