it can't continue as it is now, most of the matches are so one sided there is no point even playing them as everyone knows what the result is going to be. the good teams should be put into group a and the shite teams into group b. matches in each group should be played over a 12 month cycle and there should be one team relegated from a, and one promoted from b at the end of this. a sa aus eng pak b ind wi sl nz bangers can go and make a league with some associate nations.

agree with you though, they could play 3-4-5 match series against each other but some would be away and some would be at home, so that could be unfair. u cant chuck bangbros out though, i would make it 5 teams in both group with relegation and promotion of two teams every two years, each team would have to play minimum of 24 home and away test matches over 2 years

NZ and SL have declined badly, SL dont even want to play test cricket any more, pointless ODI tri-series seem to be the way forward. Either way both are getting a hiding away from home. On the bright side at least WI and Pak are doing better.

Agree for the most part. Only Bangers in Group B and India should make a league with some associate nations. BCCI should find it easy as well, they are quite expert in making tournaments and rules to suit themselves.

+1 for the thread. It's high time Test cricket has some sort of Super Series/Tournament which is played ever 4 years. Essentially it entails 12-15 months(maybe more) of 'tournament like' test cricket, until a winner is declared. Like a test championship. And the 3-4 years in-between can be used for all the other test series out there.

12-15 months of test cricket and nothing else? :hysterical: Cricket boards wouldn't waste 12-15 months of cricket which doesn't pull crowds. And, what should T20 and ODI fans do during that period?

Not notin else. They can still play the ODI's and T20's. But all test matches/series in this period will follow a tournament like format.
