Ashwin's main problem is his inability to build pressure. Against relative minnows like West Indies and New Zealand on Indian pitches, he doesn't need to because they don't have great techniques against spinners. But against better sides like Australia and England, Ashwin has all the skills to be a good spinner but doesn't build pressure long enough to set a batsman up. He'll invariably bowl 6 different balls in an over. It's a shame because I don't think many batsman can read him well but he'll bowl too many loose balls so they don't need to worry too much.

Yep, it must be that simple. If only Ashwin, the bowling coaches, his team mates, friends, etc. had not missed this simple fact, he would have been the greatest test bowler ever. They are all idiots and you are a genius yar. /sarcasm.

Lol Who said these people missed it? In fact most people keep saying it. I'm sure Ashwin himself probably knows it. It's one thing to know it but another thing to execute it. Especially since most of the time nowadays he's defending 200-250 runs tops and batsmen are just going after him. It's hard to be patient and stick to a plan when you're leaking runs while defending a small total. The temptation is to try something different. It's like saying a bowler doesn't bowl accurately. Obviously everyone knows it but it's something he needs to work on. If you're going to try to make a joke at my expense, next time make a better one sir!

I was his biggest fan ever, from my school days, I used to cut his pictures from newspaper and magazines and paste in colorful scrapbooks which were actually meant for education purpose. All doors and windows had his pictures pasted. I skipped family marriages for his innings, I woke up at 3AM just to see him in New Zealand, and slept too late for WI matches. I went to neighbors house to see him bat whenever my father was drunk and didn't allowed me to watch cricket and told me to sleep. I sacrificed so much for him, I pleaded to my tuition madam to allow me to watch WC99 matches instead of studying at her home. You know how he rewarded me? By crying on death of that charlatan baba, that moment I felt worst in my life. I dedicated my childhood to this guy and he robbed all my pride I had for India having a son like him. I was shattered, I was in disbelief. God gave him everything, and he cried on some pakhandis funeral. I had strong feeling that moment that his downfall has started and I was proven right, he was not same batsmen anymore, he got cursed from his biggest fan ever! I still have soft spot for him, but certainly that love ain't the same, PS: I cried on his ODI retirement.
