Tendulkar_Bhai
Drop Dinda for Shami and Pujara for Jadega, on these wickets an extra batsman would probably have won us the game as the momentum was with us when Dhoni got out and Derbach got the better of Jadega and pushed RR above 10 which it was then always going to be difficult. Dhoni also needs to bat higher up and id even consider bringing in Rohit for Kohli (will never happen). Link to comment

Fans always think that the player who is not playing will somehow come in and be the saviour- match after match Rohit fails then why suddenly he'll be so good?? Link to comment
Serani
Flat pitch with inexperienced pacers Yeh lets not count these runs then, no batsman ever has scored runs of a flat pitch so its unfair if Bells actually count Link to comment

Number
Ishant was thrown under a train by Dhoni yesterday. Bowled in first power play, 2nd powerplay and then death overs. He bowled well in the first spell. 2 maidens on a very flat track, most pacers went for runs. Still I don't mind Shami for him or Dinda. Link to comment

CG
Ishant should not dropped not for the hammering ,Anybody can have bad days. But he is just struggling technically. Link to comment
Clarke
Shami was pretty good with his line & length against Pak, I hope he doesn't lose control by playing on flat decks where the same deliveries can be tonked across the line. Link to comment
NareshK
On flat batting pitches, there should be 7 batsmen 3 seamers is an overkill on Indian tracks as they will all go for runs. If the pitch has some grass and offers some swing or stopping a bit, then 3 seamers can be a decent option. Seamers should also try to bowl wicket to wicket and not bowl short on these wickets or give width. They should bowl to their field. Often dot balls get wickets, so its useless to try too much. Yuvraj should be used more as a bowler and an extra batsman can help chase down 10-15 runs more than par score. Someone like Rohit Sharma, Rayudu, Tiwary should bat at 7 because high strike rate is important at this position. Link to comment
bharat297
It's naive to think that our problems can be solved just by making 1 or 2 selection changes. 2 months ago, people wanted Ishant to be dropped into oblivion and B.Kumar was the breakthrough Indian bowler. Then Ishant started bowling well against Pakistan and everyone was ok with him. Now he's had a bad game and B.Kumar had a bad game too and now Shami Ahmed is the new breakthrough bowler who will change everything. Can you guys name 1 player for India, to have come in since 2006, that has consistently performed for the majority of their matches? Maybe Kohli ... Gambhir for a few years ... but no one else really. Do you guys see the real problem now? We can drop Ishant for Shami and then Shami for Varun and then Varun for Atul and then Atul for Abhey and then Abhey for Vijay and keep going on and on ... but it won't make a difference unless our attitude as a team improves. Consistent performers aren't just found. You can't just pick a player and expect magic. You need consistent work ethic off the field and in training. I feel thats the area where we are lacking. bharat297
I'd say on flat pitches you want to have a few all-rounders. Jadeja and Ashwin aren't enough. I think one more all-rounder would have given us a better balance. I feel one of the pacemen could have been replaced by Irfan Pathan. Link to comment

A batsman or a bowling all rounder like Irfan but he is injured and we dont have any other options right now. Link to comment
NareshK
on which wicket is it ok to bowl short or give width? On some pitches where there is extra bounce or swing, you can get away with it. But on wickets like these, there is no margin of error. Unless a bowler sticks to the perfect line and length, he will go for plenty. Bowlers like Vinay Kumar, Dinda, Munaf Patel are more suited to these pitches. Link to comment

Even Zaheer has been smacked plenty of times. He was 88-0 in the last game at Rajkot in 2009 when he was spearhead of our bowling and was going through good patch in his career. :winky: Link to comment
