Dumbbells Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 getting smashed at 6 rpo is diff then getting smashed at 8 rpo and im talking abt wicket with new ball which would have sealed the match he picked up paki lower order wickets which were of no value Who opened the bowling attack who was responsible for picking wickets in the earlier overs? Ishant was used after 14 or 15 overs. When did he got smashed for 8 rpo? can u pull up some bowling records of Ishant's in the recent odis?

Bhuvi picked 2 wickets and he opened the bowling attack with Dinda. In the second odi Ishant picked 3 wickets and gave away 34 runs. In the 3rd odi Ishant bowled 10 overs and his figures were 3for 36 in 10 overs. I don't knw what else can a bowler do....

Old guy Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 top order wickets are expected of a experienced fast bowlers' date='not slog over wickets[/quote'] u dont see that in stats he took meaning less wicket there this is problem with ishant he can have of day without any reason on any track and lose u game and im not even talking abt this game its been a trend
Dumbbells Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 top order wickets are expected of a experienced fast bowlers' date='not slog over wickets[/quote'] he did not bowl much against the top order with the new ball.
Lord Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 he did not bowl much against the top order with the new ball. he did
Old guy Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 he shared the new ball http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-pakistan-2012/engine/match/589308.html?bowler=49327;innings=2;view=commentary
Old guy Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 btw even that 9th over...ball was just for 4 or 5 overs old

Its hard to pick top order wickets when they are not trying to score runs of him and the bowlers just have to defend less then the scores of 230's and 160s. He did not open our attack either.

Then our captain marvel gives him 9th and 11 th and 14th overs. Then he brings him on 34th over. U call this opening our attack? he gave away just 30+ runs in that match, its not like he was bowling badly.

He was the standout bowler. But, Ishant has more potential than any other bowler playing for Indian team now. He s coming back from a surgery and don't think he would start picking 5fers right away. He is here to stay.

Ishant failed in England but he was the man of the series in the WI tour. how can u forget that?

Ishant failed in England but he was the man of the series in the WI tour. how can u forget that? had ishant did just as well as other 2 pacers result would have been different.. or atleast we would not have lost by innings so many times! but problem is he was averaging over 100 which is unacceptable

None of our bowlers bowled well there. Its unfair to target Ishant. Remember what he did in Australia first time he played there.

Remember what he did in Australia first time he played there. come on think about it if ishant would have jsut bowled as well as yadav who u said did bad dont u think we could have won first match ? or in perth put up a decent fight instead of losing inside 3 days ? yes whole bowling attack failed but honestly if u look at it biggest reason of failure was ishant..it was not that ishant failed cos of bad bowling line up it was tht ishant performed so badly that bowling attack performed averagely looked really bad when u average 100 in 4 tests u drag every one down ..
