Sandeep99 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 vijay will be the 'bunny' of starc....dont want him in team As if Sehwag is going to destroy him... Starc is class but don't count the chickens before they hatch
NareshK Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm starting to like Vijay! Only if he could cut down those 'adventurous strokes' Those shots crept in because of IPL. When he started out, he looked like a proper test opener with good technique and temperament. Some of his on side shots and cover drives were similar to Laxman's. But then he lost his temperament and started playing too many shots. There is still a question mark over his ability to play pace bowling because he was poor in overseas tests. Pitch in Chennai where he plays most of his cricket is usually flat and slow and low and unhelpful for seamers. So this could be a reason for his weakness against good pace bowlers in helpful conditions.
Sandeep99 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 In comes Raina... wait for the rabbit in headlights:hysterical:
game_changerr Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 As if Sehwag is going to destroy him... Starc is class but don't count the chickens before they hatch you havnt seen how starc bowled him in champions league,,,,,i am trying to find that video
saneindian Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Take a bow Nayar. Lion hearted bowling effort.
Sandeep99 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm going to propose a different selection altogether.. Nayar at 6...Looks potentially problem solving..!
Sandeep99 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 you havnt seen how starc bowled him in champions league' date=',,,,i am trying to find that video[/quote'] Right. I know Vijay needs to tighten up the technique and curb his instincts..., He can be devastating when he gets going..
Cevno Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Vijay fools people with his impressive stroke play which is very good. He doesn't have the defensive technique and nous though. He looked clueless in SA and WI. Should have been out 4 times today ffs. And finally gone....
Cevno Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Right. I know Vijay needs to tighten up the technique and curb his instincts...' date=' He can be devastating when he gets going..[/quote'] The problem is that he only gets going on flat tracks. Even there he can get LBW.
Cevno Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Vijay doesn't get out flashing or attacking tbh. That part is alright and not a problem. Problem is his defensive technique and poking outside off. He pushed hard forward when the ball is swinging and goes too across..
Sandeep99 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 The problem is that he only gets going on flat tracks. Even there he can get LBW. The thing is, in South Africa like conditions, you have to play your strokes as a batsman because you never know when a good ball is going to come! This guy can score those quick 40-50s upfront, but yeah, I may be completely wrong!

Cevno Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Mumbai have nobody who can rough up Raina or no quality off spinner either.
Sandeep99 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Can Nayar bring it in?? Want to see Raina's stumps castled:dance:
saneindian Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Ball nipping around, scoring runs won't be easy
