So that's your barometer, only care if the west cares. :headshake:
Yes Sir. If a Western think tank is not even worth a read in the West I see no reason why Indians should be worried. You of course can spent time searching web on how Timbaktu views India. Again, this random retarded survey did not register a blip on Western media, but obviously made you happy. Whose judgement deserves pity? Think about it :winky:

Freedom of expression for each individual in country is going down, so ofcourse for press also it will go down. See what you feel about this kinda news: http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2013-01-30/hyderabad/36635085_1_kcr-trs-president-telangana These things are becoming routine affair. Cases for frivoulous reason like voicing your opinion. On a different note, if there was a ranking for corruption by press, our press would probably top that which would justify why they are being muzzled.

This is brilliant. Watch out your cynicism doesn't turn into paranoia with anything negative about India, it can become a sad life. I came across this piece at Firstpost.com, which I skim through daily. Firstpost is one of my online source of news along with The Hindu, Times of India, BBC News and NYT. Most of the posts re any events is usually from these sources. My sincere apologies that my news sources doesn't include the great shining beacon, FOX News of America. Like I said, I pity you and your false assumptions.

The Indian media and the Indian Govt are most certainly the ones to be blamed for this situation BUT to some extent even the public is responsible in that we seem to have developed a liking for sensationalization - the evidence for this is that India TV is among the top Hindi news channels in terms of TRPs while in English, Times Now (with arrogant Arnab as editor) has had the highest ratings for some time now.

KT not allowed to say a pakistan cricket chucks. Freedom of speech is over everywere.:--D
ICF is not a democracy. Someone owns it and pays of it. He has every right to decide what will be on this site and what won't and he is doing it by assigning this task to some people. You can't cry much about it. If you have problem then you can always start your own site with "more freedom of speech".

There is no ignoring freedom of press is devalued & awareness of it certainly very low; I even can digest being number 131, but its very hard to beleive lot of these countries above 131 enjoy better freedom than us!
