Ultimate_Game Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Instead of barring English, or other foreign players, I would prefer BCCI strike a deal with ECB, CA and SACB to send Indian youngsters and A team players to Eng, Aus and SA. The foreign players will anyways get exposed to Indian conditions by playing 2 month IPL so better to make sure our youngsters also get exposed to conditions outside of south asia.

Unless India compensate in some way through A tours or something similar, its quite obvious India will struggle overseas because of lack of exposure.

I am sure England cricket clubs can accommodate. Though I dont agree with the idiot writer who wrote this sensationalist crap of an article, it seems ECB is doing everything to make sure English cricketers acclimatize to Indian conditions and get used to them while BCCI is doing nothing and allowing our players play in IPL, Champions League instead. I have to appreciate ECB because they are making test cricket their priority and giving their young cricketers the best chance to do well here and become a top test team in the future.

Murali Kartik is a regular depsite playing IPL, Ojha played a couple of years back despite being an IPL regular. IPL gets over in May end, County Championship runs till mid September. If the BCCI was willing, a couple of players will surely get county contracts. But with the relations between the two boards getting worse by the day and with ECB pulling its team out of the CLT20 from this year, I do not see any chance for Indian players in county championship.

They could well have gone back home as their visit almost got averted. There was drama before their expected arrival. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was peeved that the Dutch did not seek permission to visit India. Their hosts too did not seek BCCI permission before inviting them. Just like the controversy surrounding the England Lions, who have been camping here for the last two weeks, there were issues linked to the Dutch visit too. The BCCI was not too amused. The Netherlands cricket team is scheduled to play a couple of games against a DY Patil XI in Navi Mumbai and three matches against the England Lions in Pune. The Pune leg of their tour was in danger of being scuppered as the Maharashtra Cricket Association had taken a tough stand of not letting them any ground. Ÿe would not let any ground to them. ItÃÔ an unauthorised tour, an association official told DNA a few days back. The association relented after the BCCI softened its stand on the touring party. The BCCIÃÔ rethink came after the England and Wales Cricket BoardÃÔ apology. ŸeÃ×e agreed to host them after the ECB apologised to us. But it was not the way the tours are conducted, a top board official said. With the BCCI relenting, the Pune-based association said it would let its grounds for the Dutch-England Lions matches. ŵhe ECB has apologised to the BCCI for their error in not seeking permission. The BCCI president has accepted the apology and as a special case allowed the matches to go ahead this one time. So, if the BCCI has given approval, weÃ×e no problem, the Maharashtra official said explaining the U-turn in their position. But the association refused to spare the swanky Subroto Roy Sahara Stadium. ŵhey will have to play at a club ground, the official remarked. The matches are on December 13, 14 and 16. Meanwhile, the Dutch team said they are looking forward to the India visit. That's what I said, maybe BCCI should do that during Jun-Sept, Counties, club crickets, etc. I am sure they can be easily be enticed with money. Not sure if BCCI has brains.

MCA Pune is BCCI. but regardless as England is an ICC member and teams come under an ICC banner they are bound to seek permission of the bcci. In this case MCA is Pune based and a BCCI affiliate

As the controlling body of cricket in the country, BCCI do have a jurisdiction, especially when it involves international players. Say anything wrong happens to these visiting cricketers in India, who will be held responsible?

In the past, members from our national team played county. I was saying that this is impossible now because after 2 month IPL, players will either rest followed by a series of tours. The benefit of domestic only players (unless they are about to play for the country) playing county is minimal as far as team India is concerned. Gavaskar played for Somerset Kapildev played for Worscestershire and Northamptonshire Azharuddin played for Derbyshire. and so on. In this team, we would like Gambhir, Pujara, Kohli, Rohit, Raina, Ashwin etc to play county for best results to the Indian team. Which is impossible now.
