People used to think he was some kind of big hitter who was unique. However, this 20/20 WC has shown loads of other batters could have done what he did but just had the brains not to. As quick 30s mean jack in longer forms of the game. So many batters are smoking balls in to the crowd and getting scores with strike rates of 100 plus. Afridi has been out gunned by other batters in big hitting stakes. He has been exposed as nothing unique or special but just a brainless batter.

afridi is pure entertainment when he gets going. no 2 doubs on tht however he is not consistent and its hard to be with the way he bats and thats bad news for pakistan but his bowling is making it up for his lack of batting in 20/20.

You cleary did not understand what I wrote. Not unusual for you to not comprehend things. He has been exposed as not being a big hitter of any uniqueness. As many world batsman have shown they can smash quick runs with sixes and big hitting. Just in longer form of game they choose not to do this as it is not recipe for consistent success.

He is also exposing quite a few batsmen by being the leading wicket taker in the competition so far.

Yep, DSR..... I am quite amazed with the Power Hitting capabilities of several batsmen in the tournament....Its just that they chose not to in longer forms

he might now have suceeded with the bat as much as pak fans would've expected him to, but he has been the best bowler in the tournament so far along with daniel vettori. A top player in this format without a doubt.

You need skill to score runs in Twenty20. Afridi's example comfortably dispels the myth that the only batsmen who profit in Twenty20 are brainless sloggers.

I had been saying this all along he is the only batsman who plays for saving his strike rate.. Mind you he is the highest mollah raker for his brain-dead behaviour so there is a deliberate method to his ratardness. Apparently to be brain-dead pays on that side of the border....:cantstop:

Part which got exposed was pakistanis claim noone else cud do what he does even if they attempted to be brain-dead ....... Pretending to be smart is difficult but anyone can be brain-dead that's what the OP established..

What is the use of such pointless threads? It only makes ICF look like some Pak obsessed website. Who cares how Afridi fared as a bat? Pakistan has beaten SL and Australia, two WC finalists. I am sure every cricket fan should give them due credits for that. xx
