DravidDaBest
Yoda , NRR is taken into acc consid all the 3 matches in the Super 8's. If we win so narrowly for our NRR to go below NZ ,we wont qualify. Wrong. After all the matches, the following is the NRR NZ - 0.085 Ind - 0.4 SA - 1.6 Ours won't go below NZ if we win tomorrow. Ram
there is no way our NRR goes down with a win. give me a scenario with numbers. Actually , you are right. Even the scrappiest/smallest margin of victory will ensure the NRR doesnt go down. As in , even if we score 25 runs in 20 overs , bowl out SA for 20 , our NRR stay above NZ. So yea , we are through ,if we win tomorrow. Link to comment

yoda
Then why was everyone concerned abt NRR during India-Eng match (even if Ind won). India beat Eng, then Ind MUST beat SA. If that is the equation then why even if Ind beat Eng, people were talking abt NRR over Eng? that's because if we had won by 1 run against ENG, our NRR would be below NZ's and we would have to beat SAF by a decent margin to go over NZ's NRR. If that is the equation then why even if Ind beat Eng, people were talking abt NRR over Eng? Thats coz , if we had a narrow victory against Eng , our NRR will be below NZ's 0.05. So we have to compensate for that against the Saffies. Link to comment

coffee_rules
If SA scores 60 in 20 overs and we score 61 in 20 overs. For = 398+61 = 459/60 = 7.65 Against = 390+60 = 450/60 = 7.5 NRR = 0.15 ...India still goes through because NZ's NRR is 0.05. What are you guys on about? If India wins even with the tinyest margin, the NRR can't go below 0.05. India will win this. Even if SA scores 240 and we score 241 in 20 overs (last ball), we will be through..Don't lose sleep over NRR, if India wins. We win we are in SF!!!! Link to comment
yoda
what if SA is allout for 1 run and we take all of 20 overs to score 2? i think that is sriram's worry. :haha: Link to comment

yoda
wont matter .. worst case scenario is both teams tied on 0 after 20 + 20 maiden overs :D and India win the bowl out .. even then our NRR will be 0.133 true. let's see if we can avoid the only way to screw up the game. :haha: Link to comment

coffee_rules
I think Dhoni will bat first score 139/8. SA will score it in 19 overs for 2 wkts down. This can happen tommorow. Link to comment
living
I cannot believe that failed to capitalize on sch a great opportunity to boost our NRR today. If we lose out on NRR tomorrow for some reason, its going to be a bummer. :whatchutalkingabout Link to comment
