FischerTal Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Since most of our tests will be played outside subcontinent for the next two years, who are the key players that could make a positive impact for India? My XI (even though it will never come to fruition) 1) Abhinav Mukund 2) Shikhar Dhawan 3) Cheteshwar Pujara (Captain) 4) Ajinkya Rahane 5) Virat Kohli (Vice captain) 6) Ambati Rayudu 7) Wriddhiman Saha (wicketkeeper) 8) Ravichandran Ashwin 9) Bhuvneshwar Kumar 10) Shami Ahmed 11) Umesh Yadav

MY SQUAD: Gambhir Vijay Dhawan Rahane Pujara Kohli Rayadu Tiwary Dhoni Ashwin Jadeja Ishant Ahmed Yadav Bhuvneshwar Pankaj Singh 16-Member squad who could cover all bases. Only other players I would like to have around are Siddharth kaul, Chand, Rasool, Mandeep, Rohit, Stuart Binny.

Also, I would bring in Varun Aaron
carnish Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 i agree with all your players except Binny and Ishant. Also' date=' I would bring in Varun Aaron[/quote'] Aaron is too much injured ... Can't rely on him if we are building a squad. Ishant has the talent and I would like him to be around. And have you seen Binny play in the last season?? Doesnot have very good figures, but I think he is a hard worker just like jadeja plus his dibbly-dobbly medium pacers can be handy outside the sub continent. But obviously, he aint in my top 16.

He was our best bowler in Emerging Players Tournament in Australia. Maybe waqar can help Ishant at Hyderabad Sunrisers. The problem with Ishant is the slant angle with which he releases the ball. If you see his first tour in Australia, seam is upright, which helped him bowl better. I saw Binny in a Ranji game. At best, he is a back up player

BUt he can handle the shot ball decently and hence can be an option away and medium pacers have always done well in ENGLAND AND South Africa, so won't be a bad option especially in ODIs if not tests.

Expect Nohit to be drafted in CT :hysterical::hysterical:
The Dark Horse Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I like your team, not sure of Dhawan overseas and cant pass a judgement on Rahane (though we should try them)-rest of the squad is fine
FischerTal Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 I like your team' date=' not sure of Dhawan overseas and cant pass a judgement on Rahane (though we should try them)-rest of the squad is fine[/quote'] Whats wrong with Dhawan overseas?

Should not be playing in CT or The Tri Series in West Indies.
carnish Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Plus we should look at sendinng most of our test specialists to SOUTH AFRICA on that A tour. That would help them a lot.
FischerTal Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Plus we should look at sendinng most of our test specialists to SOUTH AFRICA on that A tour. That would help them a lot. I agree, the whole team should be going. Im sure this time, Che Pujara will shine. I have the gut feeling.
FischerTal Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 hard time ahead for indians once again. yep, but it has to be done now to prepare for the foreseeable future. hard time for pakistan too. although junaid has ability to develop into a fine bowler. your batting is ummm........ well yeah.
bharat297 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Rohit Sharma is a must for the next batch of away tours. He should not be playing ODIs right now. He hasn't done well in them and his game is better suited for Tests.
harmuk Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I see Rayadu's name figure in each cricket fans list, excepting in the list that matters. I wonder why?
SLICKR392 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Gambhir Dhawan Pujara Sachin/Sehwag Kohli Rahane Dhoni Ashwin Umesh Bhuv Zaheer
SLICKR392 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 hard time ahead for indians once again. You should rather be worried about your horrible times.
