CSK Fan Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 It depends on which forefather you believe in. I believe in Savarkar' date=' you may believe in someone else. Despite the fear mongering from seculars, the rise of BJP and NDA did not result in deprivation of minorities from India. We want India to be a prosperous nation that acknowledges its Hindu identity and doesnt discard it[/quote'] Where is the fear of discarding our hindu identity? Most youth are proud of their identity in their own ways. What BJP/RSS preaches is completely far from hinduism. Hindusim did not have any issues with conversion or following other religions. Hinduism never had any objective of growing their numbers and spreading it. These are the direct tenents borrowed from Christianity and Islam If today's youth rejects hinduism, its not because of brainwashing but because they have freedom to chose. The rise of BJP did see the Babri Masjid riots. In Karnatak we already have rights of minorities being trampled and text books being changed in one term of BJP. Despite these, BJP is still not as right-winged as RSS. They had people of the stature of Vajpayee. But if Modi comes to power, who knows
FischerTal Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 When the blacks were prosecuted in the US, the country came up with special minorities rights to stop them from being prosecuted. We had white red-necks who had all the luxury, complaining about being discriminated and that blacks are going to take over the country and ruin it. Guess what happened? They stuck with it and today they have a black President When women were prosecuted for centuries and today when they are given special rights and laws in some country, the men, who had all the luxuries, for centuries, started crying about discrimination and mis-use of these laws. Guess what happened? Countries stuck with them and today those countries see women equality and have prospered as a result A country can only be as strong as its weakest link, i.e, its minorities. Every secular country everywhere have always provided special rights to their minorities because in a large country, its very easy for the rights of the minorities to be down-trodden. The majority, by the very fact of them being majority, can take care of themselves. Yeah, almost every time, any country tries to help its minorities, people like you try to spread the fear of majority discrimination and the wiping out of majority. But that never happens, a strong minority, only makes the nation stronger History is rife with examples of countries who prospered after giving special status to and enpowering their minorities. Blacks had to be given special status (hate laws, etc). Women had to be given more rights. On the other hand, countires which tried to follow your example, tried to first ensure the rights of the majority, suffered big time. The splitting of Bangladesh from Pakistan being the best example. Your agenda will only make all minorities feel more insecure and India will break into a 100 pieces There is no depravation of hinduism from the Indian ethos. We are in the majority and can take carfe of ourselves without any special laws. Minorities do require special laws because our enemies are always going to target those who feel insecure. Its our job to make them secure. You cannot run a group race with some members left behind. Yes often times these laws are mis-used but in the end the payback is still worth it Blacks and women were the two biggest constituencies that voted for Obama and the Democrats. They keep getting more welfare and entitlements than any other people in America at the cost of the taxpayers. They are in a weak situation due to overdependence on government and thats what democrats in America count on. These welfare voters are the primary reason for why special laws should not be created. It doesnt make an equal society. It completely tilts the power balance towards these minorities and renders the majority useless, just like with religious reservation, Communal violence bill. It is nothing more than political ploy to garner votes. Congress has ruled India for more than 55 years. Has it done anything for long term improvement of minorities? NO, because the end goal is to give special priviliges and election time freebies at the cost of the Hindu majority. India today is only 81 percent Hindu, much down from where we were in 1947, which is easily explainable through the use of pro-minority politics.

Despite these, BJP is still not as right-winged as RSS. They had people of the stature of Vajpayee. But if Modi comes to power, who knows Modi just had clean sweep of municipal polls with many muslim candidates. Rights of minorities are the only rights you see and are concerned about. Hinduism doesnt convert, but we are not going to stand back and allow our nation to be taken over by the same forces that controlled us thousand of years ago (the mughals and the british, both of whom are responsible for introduction of islam and christianity) Babri Masjid was a sign of shame towards Hindus as it was created by destruction of Lord Rama's temple. Christianity and Islam are based on proselytization. You can convert if you want to, but if somebody runs campaign to oppose this conversion, whats your problem with that?
Crookbond Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I can give you various fronts on which he succeeds in front of any politician that does indeed make him the best thing since sliced bread. I didnt give you one statistic but it is there for all to see why Gujarat under him has developed in better roads, electricity, water availability, etc. Have I denied any of it? I have clearly asked what "development" exactly is and I keep on hearing this w/o getting a concrete reply. I will still wait to hear what exactly you meant by "development". I just hear 2-3 things every time - electricity, water and couple of other things. Is that is all development for you? I am not asking you list down projects but asking you for sectors in which Modi has shown development and the ones where he has not. Lets see if you can stand up to your honor on this. Your personal agenda lies in the complete criticism of anything Modi does, not his praise at all, which I rebuke because it is based on your personal disenchantment towards modi. You will never make a thread criticising Article 370 or Muslim personal law because its not befitting of your own secular agenda. It is quite sad that you dont understand the war against Hinduism being done at the small scale level, whether conversion of Hindus in South India, occupation of once Hindu temples into Mughal remnants. (Babri Masjid, mosque in Kashi Viswanath). I see India as the only Hindu majority country in the world and that it will be upto Hindus themselves to make sure it remains a Hindu majority country and not become another Kerala and Kashmir. If you cant swallow the bitter truth, then its not my problem. I have no personal disenchantment towards Modi. Can you tell me where have I criticized Modi for the good things he has done? If you can't then you should not make that comment on me. On the other hand, you on this thread (and related threads of Swine Flu) itself, have had the Modi chauvinism got the better of you - from misleading information regarding swine flu numbers to complete disregard of the Gujarat HC. :omg: What am I reading? Now, please do not take this in a wrong manner but consider this anaology. I understand you are living in the US - so by the same logic, I guess it is OK for Hindus/Indians to be kicked out of the US to make it a White dominating country. It is upon the Whites (and I will urge my large number of White friends) to carry upon this war. Oh man, this is nothing but another jihad - I am quite shocked and disappointed by what I have to read here.

Atleast I say it publicly I am a Modi supporter. Pity secularism has stooped down to this level that you wont even acknowledge your hatred towards what Namo stands for. Hindus are prosperous in AMerica due to their hardwork, not from handouts or freebies from Whites. This nation needs us more than we need it. Thats why Indians are the most prosperous foreign group in America. Why in the world would be kicked out? America itself will be in a bigger hole than it already is in. Surely those whites wouldnt want that. Also, when have I ever said that Muslims or any minority should be kicked out of India?

Now, after everything else fails indulge in ad hominem. Is this how you have been taught to indulge in a decent discussion? Can you sense the tone in my post? Is there ANYWHERE I have called you names? In this thread, you indulged in spread of misinformation and disregard for HC because it went against the Gujarat government. I asked you specific questions which I haven't received any answer Q1 : Please point me to any post where I have discredited Modi for his development. If not, how do you claim me to criticize Modi for the good he has done? Q2 : What are the sectors in which Modi has made development? I have already given you 2 articles that sum up my beliefs on Modi's development. Instead of arguing them on their merit, you say you have already read such articles. If you truly have, you would be able to gauge the likability of Modi as an administrator and good governance fellow and understand what kind of development he has brought to Gujarat. By your own admission, there are enough articles on Modi's governance record. I urge you to read them again, this time carefully and not just sift over them a then you yourself will be able to look at Modi in a different way. Cheers
G_B_ Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 You have clearly no idea what our fore-fathers envisoned India as. Our identity is not as a hindu majority country' date=' our identity is as a secular country and it will remain so. I know some people (particularly NRIs) see India as some last bastion of hinduism but thats not what our country stands for. You just want to turn India into the hindu version of Pakistan. Never going to happen. Also, i dont care if India is hindu majority or muslim majority or chrsitian majority. I care only that India becomes presperous, all citizens stay united and we become a super-power one day with poverty eliminated. Nothing else matters.[/quote'] i think the real question is, were the forefathers right? Lets be honest dude, the economic vision of our forefathers was a big flop. Maybe we should not be paying too much attention to forefathers and forge our path based on current parameters? Randomly promoting something which is bound to fail just cause the forefathers wanted it to be that way is not the right way to go about things.

The fact is dude the closest India has been to a dictatorship has been when I Gandhi fudged the constitution to extend her power. Ironically she was the direct decendent of a forefather.... The BJP maybe many things, but they have never challenged democracy or misused the constitution. The only party to challenge democracy itself and the very freedom you talk about has been the secular Congress (i).
seedhi Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I would also like to know this from Modi supporters. Also please mention the projects he started on his own rather than continuing with the ones started before himI can mention one which I have read about. The power reforms in Gujarat have been a highlight during his regime. As an example, the Gujarat govt under him launched the jyotigram yojana which involved feeder separation for agricultural and non agricultural use in villages. This has led to 24 hrs electricity in the non-ag feeder (at higher rate) plus 9-10 hrs for the agri feeder (at lower rate), and also reduced wastage. The feeder separation program was praised by the planning commission which recommended that other states also take it up. Another aspect of power reforms is the focus on solar power in which Gujarat has led the rest of India by far. All this is of course in addition to the fact that Gujarat is power surplus state now which sells excess capacity.

Its our job to make them secure. You cannot run a group race with some members left behind. Yes often times these laws are mis-used but in the end the payback is still worth itI think you dont know very much about US laws. The Blacks dont have any special rights like minorities in India. For one, the US as uniform civil code, i.e. a uniform set of civil personal laws irrespective of religion, whereas in India Muslims and Christians have a different set of personal laws. In India, the perverted form of "secularism" we follow has branded the demand for a uniform civil code as communal, even though it is in the directive principles of the constitution. Go figure. Also, the comparison of Blacks in US with Indian Muslims is really comparing incomparables. There was no centuries old institutional subjugation of Muslims in India like Blacks. In fact, a lot of political power in the form of local rulers was with the Muslims till 1947. There is also no precedent in the US of the political Islam induced partition of India.
Stuge Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Isn't that simply because there are more swine in Delhi than in other parts of the country? Especially in and around the sansad bhavan area. :haha::haha:

Can you tell me any place where I have discredited Modi? You have mentioned this more than once on multiple threads. If you can't, then you are essentially indulging in ad hominem. I have read the media articles but by your own admission those articles have to be taken with a pinch of salt viz. they are not cast and stone. Therefore, I am asking you to please list down sectors where Narendra Modi has performed as well as not performed. Mind you - I'm asking this ONLY because you have repeatedly harped over the point of Modi is a leader with "development".

Indeed these are credits for which Modi and his administration deserves (mind you - I am not having any discussion on whether the state was set for him etc. etc. He has the numbers under him and he deserves credit). Similarly, Jyotigram Yojana is indeed a positive for the Gujarat government (I believe it started in 2003) - so full credit to the Modi government for this. That said, I'm sure the power sector reforms can't be extrapolated to reforms in other sectors. ATM, we can only say that Modi is a brilliant administrator in the power sector. Just as more data comes in, I will keep on adding to this list.
