I used to think I would go back in my initial years here but now I can't see myself doing that.Maybe it's because most of my time when I go back is spent in Delhi and that colours my perceptions of India.

While I will never be an athiest and while I was never ultra religious while in India,I am no longer as religious as I was in India and that is one change that I am not very comfortable with.

Desi Cartman Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I don't think there is any issue till I get to 50s, till then I'm happy to live in Australia or the USA but for some reason I feel that I want to move to india after retirement or visit every few months. Even though I have seen it being a massive fail. I have seen few uncle jees trying to move back to India once their kids moved out. They all planned to stay in India and they just couldn't. Maybe because relatives, friends etc dont feel connected or maybe because these uncles couldn't adjust in the environment but it never works.

Not being ultra-religious, used to participate a lot with family during festive times. Being away from family and missing out on the festival activities, you tend to be even more far away from religion. Finally one day you see it's futile, and utterly unnecessary to believe in god, especially when you see the evils of it from people who strongly believe in and cause so much damage to the world. Atleast like other atheist, I am not a activist/fundamentalist and don't mock people who are religious (eg: Bill Maher). For me religion/god is something very personal and don't feel the need to wear it on the sleeve.
