While it's true that CSK have a poor record against MI overall(the only IPL team against which CSK have lost more matches than they've won), they have a very good record against them in knockout matches. In fact CSK have not won an IPL group match against MI since 2010(they beat them in a CLT20 group match last year after both teams were already eliminated), they lost the only match they played against them in 2011 and they lost both the group matches they played in 2012, however they still beat MI in the eliminator last year. While MI are probably favorites at the moment, they've been in such positions in the past and have been found wanting in knockout games whereas CSK tend to excel in those situations, so I think MI will want to avoid CSK more in a knockout match than CSK would want to avoid MI because I believe CSK has a 100% win record against them in knockouts.
