Number Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Picking and choosing his batting position. Sending Ashwin ahead was an epic fail of a move.
G_B_ Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 that just reeked of desperation. I am being serious, but if this is his attitude, god knows whats going to happen in england if the pitch shows seam and swing
jf1gp_1 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 yes he was, he is scared of the guy against whom he got a test double hundred a few weeks back. Now to punish this pussy we strip him of all the victories he has pulled off , starting today Srilanka are the reigning WC champs
I6MTW Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 lol. Dhoni destroy's bowlers that make Johnson's bowling look like pie throwing. He destroyed Johnson in the test series as well. Dhoni was planning on finishing the match late in the innings.

The pitch has swing and seam and ball was doing something. Dhoni is usually found wanting in such situations and thats the point and he was clearly trying to avoid Johnson And if you want to cry about international matches, please go to Cricket Talk. Why is it that whenever some player or team gets pwned people start bringing in international performances, yet when they do well, they are the greatest based only on IPL performances

adi B Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 of course he was scared, johnson along with the pitch looked dangerus, dhoni clearly didnt want to face the tune, even malinga and suyal were bowling fast.he was saving himself for the spinners
JourneyMan Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Here I was wondering if Dhoni would come out and open the innings, and he ended up hiding in the locker room until there was no other choice but to come out.
kubrickian Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 He has smashed better bowlers than Johnson many times in the past. I can only laugh at the frustration of the fans of other teams who got thrashed by CSK. :hysterical:
I6MTW Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Not when the pitch is swinging. Then he can destroy no one Which is why he planned on coming late. FIY Dhoni came in when India was 29-5 and scored a century which one of the best knocks in cricket history and saved India from humiliation. And he came in the 8th over at that time.

Yes and Sachin has scored a 200 in an ODI against Steyn. Doesn't stop you guys from thrashing him? Why do people again bring in international performance here? Based on international performance, Ponting should be the king of IPL. Reeks of desperation
saneindian Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Thats an insult for Suyal. Dhoni was hiding from him and not Jhonson or Mallinga.

Reeks of desperation If you havent forgotten Dhoni has performed better in domestic then intl. He's a better domestic than intl player. Just check his IPL records. And that match where India was 29-5, that was a massive pace friendly pitch with swing and seam.

Dhoni allowed the much better player of the condition, Ashwin to go and face rampaging Mumbai bowlers. And the only reason he didn't come in early was because the score was not 29-5 and it would have been too easy for him. So to give Mumbai a decent chance, he waited till 5 wickets had already fallen and came in at 34-5
vvvslaxman Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Not when the pitch is swinging. Then he can destroy no one Wasn't Hussey struggling as well? That makes him less of a batsman? I don't get it.. I know for a fact Tendu got owned by Johnson as well in the Kulalampur match. Tendu was absolutely clueless against Johnson.
superstar Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Johnson was hiding from Dhoni. Did not have the guts to bowl to him.

Dhoni brought him to counter pace and he got out to spin. Ashwin scored international fifties at a regular basis. He started his career as an opening batsmen.

vvvslaxman Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Johnson was hiding from Dhoni. Did not have the guts to bowl to him. Personally not a bad move. Dhoni is not a technical wizard . He has his short comings. But he has some strengths that is unmatched by his peers. Death over slogging against anyone.
