Make it a year long event like IPL and play only on weekends ... That way we can have tests in the week days and then players catching friday night flights to India to play IPL games on week ends. Profits will galore for Indian Aviation and it will open up new flight routes to Africa and Australia too. :--D

Give a franchise to Gujarat and increase the no of teams 10. They deserve it . Increase the no. of foreign players to 5 to increase the quality of teams but at the same time it won't affect giving opportunity to Indian players since there will be 10 teams . Spread and play more matches regularly in small stadiums like Vizag Coimbatore and Indore. Fans in these town deserve and they make IPL even more colourful Most importantly spread it over 3 months and make sure most matches played in weekends or in Friday nights. So that fans in the stadium can return home peacefully. Also would be better if the could shift the Pune franchise to Lucknow. There shouldn't have been two teams for a single state ideally

People asking for a Lucknow franchise?? Does Lucknow even have an Intl. level stadium??? Better give a franchise to Ahmedabad, one to Kochi (not a stupid management like last time) and one to Bhopal which is coming up with a world class stadium ... May even stage some matches in Gwalior or Indore.

They have Green park. which is in the Lucknow-Kanpur belt. The issue has been an airport. Not a stadium. Thats the issue with a lot of places. Even if they have a stadium you need an airport for travel. Hence a place like Nagpur will probably get a franchise much sooner than Lucknow. Both A'bad and Kochi have airports and stadiums. Place like Indore, Raipur, Ranchi can be used as one off stadiums but you cant base your entire home matches on them. Will be a nightmare to get to. 3 months also is a drag. We will be heavily eating into the international calender.

What nightmare?? You telling me franchises which spend so much will not be able to charter flights??? Lucknow does have an airport if I am right .. Kanpur doesn't. Can't use Green Park ... Remember, its the state Govt. owned stadium and lies in pathetic conditions and lives on Govt. mercy for its infrastructure. Recently, a test match was shifted from there to Hyderabad for bad conditions. And why you talking about 3 months?? 12 teams, 22 matches for each team ... 3 games a day will make it easier to complete the schedule in 9 weeks at most.

i dont know the details, but Sahara wanted to take a franchise to originally Lucknow. But could not because the airport was not good enough and the BCCI did not sanction it. Hence they settled on Pune. That does tell us that a city needs a stadium and an airport. 3 games a day would mean starting games in the morning. On a weekday that would be a ratings killer and each franchise will receive a smaller part of the broadcasting pie. Not to mention poor gate receipts.

Ratings killer :headshake: The most important thing in IPL is the fans going to the stadium . How the hell can they go to matches on weekdays that too at 10 am? U can't even imagine sitting in that heat at those times seriously Even one match on weekdays is too much. The trouble in returning after an 8 PM match is already nightmarish . They should try to accomodate most matches on Friday Saturday and Sunday and Sunday match should begin at 7 pm

I was saying the same thing that Lucknow cannot host games and hence it should be Ahmedabad, Kochi and Bhopal which is getting a new world class ground or Indore in case Bhopal misses the deadline. 12 teams, 22 games each, 132 League games. 2 games per day on week days, 3 games on weekends means 128 games in 8 weeks plus 8 days for the Knockouts. Max of 10 weeks at best. Presently they play approx 8 weeks. Not a bad option.

Yes,would like to see 2 mandatory spots for SL players in every team's playing 11.B-> SLC has given immense support to the IPL since its inception by giving NOCs and making an unofficial window for it every year. Thus BCCI should return the favour at least from next year...:two_thumbs_up:
