Indian Cricket reaping profits from seeds Chappell and Dravid sow

head coach

Once again, Greg Chappell has been proved right - his comment that the management would do well not to ignore the youngsters in the country was spot on.Chappell's presentation to BCCI, the definite accent was on youth, and the development of players who had the strength, power and fitness to play the game in a manner that would make them competitive at the highest role. He may not have shined as an Indian coach but the process Chappell and Dravid started is working wonders and providing measurable results!

Varun we have seen youngsters and how they fared in longer version by longer I mean ODI, it's not that easy to keep up the bang bang tempo for 50 overs. Having said that I do believe one by one oldies now should make way for these fresh legs. Somehow I can't see how anyone can justify Rohit Sharma's exclusion from any team in future. This guy is calm as cucumber has all the shots in the book and seems unfazed no matter what. :two_thumbs_up:

Good point about the youth. Though we didn't need a Chappell to spell that out really. Chappell's job was to make India do well in the World Cup and he failed miserably. Anyway, Nice to see you back :P
Varun thanks! Coaches dont win or lose matches but players do. The squad we had was not good enough to win worldcup! You need a bunch of performers who can play with same intensity from first ball to last ball. That is what you saw at Twenty20. Varun if you watch NFL you know how teams win and lose. Not because of coaches it is just purely based on player strength. Young players in the team benefited from Chappell's stint as coach. And all who were cut from the side regained their form eg: Zaheer, Gangully, Pathan, Sehwag, Harbajan... I dont mean to say Chappell was a successful coach for India he failed in his role but the process he estabilished won !

Cant find fault with that. Greg's insistence on Youth has atleast been responsible for the success in the shorter format. The geriatric brigade obviouisly did not appreciate that but maybe its time we give credit where its due - Greg did make some good pointers towards the role of youth.

Chappal was a b@$%% who destroyed our team and left no stone unturned to create permanent rift between players who have been playing together much before retard got the job. he was definately an ACB design to do as much damage as possible to India's future..... but sadly, anglicized Indian elites in BCCI can't realize this and the vulture is back to destroy next generation from Rajasthan Cricket. Saala, hamaara peecha nahin chhodega..... We can't learn from rest of the world....nooone in the world is interested in Chappal g@ndu, except Indian elites....and vulture is not leaving even state teams to further his agenda.

This needs to be highlighted and bolded for truth. I wouldnt hold against Chappel that he was being paid by the ACB to destroy the indian cricket team especially the seniors. You just know they cant stand that Sachin is the highest run getter in odis and that record wont be broken unless he retires from the game.

Chappell's intentions were right, but his methods were bone-headedly brutal. He couldnt win the trust of even one player. He is a total misfit to coach adults. He should stick with coaching kids in junior academies. He may not be tesponsible for all our losses, but he needs to cop a significant amount of blame for it
