and thats where you are wrong. Kohli scored many runs in this IPL but i still believe he will be a failure in the longer format of the game in the long run :giggle:
ofcourse you would say that about kohli. But we all know your hanckering for pujara....:hysterical:

thats what u have written' date=' u can just criticize about the indian domestic structure. dont think u have ever played the sport at any competitive level.[/quote'] it wasnt just me criticizing it, read all the articles written by sports journalists on why Ranji format and pitches need to change if you want to create more tendulkars and dravids

he was on the bench because of dhobi and look how the great India team collapsed in Dharamshala where ball was fizzing around and our FTBs couldnt handle it. you pointed out that pujara has played in saurashtra implying that he is an FTB and i gave you proof that he is not' date=' so i think you should read before you write :cantstop:[/quote'] i said pujara played on flat surfaces in Saurashtra. That does mean Pujara = ftb. the less said about the others in team saurashtra the beteer :hysterical:

lol have you seen our ranji cricket in the past couple of years? the format itself is a joke. there is no incentive to win' date=' therefore pattas are created so that even batsmen like suresh raina start looking like don bradman[/quote'] All the more reason for a tournament like IPL because literally nobody watches Ranji trophy and only a few will get selected eventually for national team where they may not succeed if things dont go their way. Most will get relegated to play for state teams and play drawn games on patta wickets in front of empty stadiums where they get paid a fraction of what national side cricketers get paid.

you brought ranji into this thread not me..... check your posts again :two_thumbs_up:
i said ipl does not overlap with ranji and does not affect Indian cricket. you said quality of ranji is poor due to pattas. thats what i got from reading the posts again.

what kind of lahori logic is this? he guided us to a win against australia in 4th innings on a rank turner in Delhi. all the other batsmen upto Dhobi collapsed and Che's 82 was the reason we won that Delhi test

yes and i told you ranji itself is in shambles, which also contributes to the lack of quality players just like IPL

its not an either/or argument for me. if you wanna have IPL, keep it. however, there has to be a concentrated effort at developing quality test players. does it not concern you that we still havent found a credible replacement for ganguly after 5 years?

That's a selection issue more than anything else IMO. Selectors have been picking ODI players like Yuvraj, Raina for many years for a specialist test batsman slot even though they clearly havent shown the technique and temperament required. If they had selected batsmen who have done well in middle order for their Ranji sides, then we would have seen better results.
