StriKe Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Ramdin charged for claiming Misbah catch West Indies wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin has been charged with breaching the ICC Code of Conduct for claiming a catch off Misbah-ul-Haq during the Champions Trophy match against Pakistan at The Oval. Ramdin has pleaded not guilty and will attend a hearing on Monday. Ramdin was charged with breaching article 2.2.11 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game". The incident took place in the ninth over of the Pakistan innings, when Misbah bottom-edged a Kemar Roach delivery to Ramdin. He initially appeared to have caught the ball but lost control of it as he fell forward, and it slipped out of his gloves on to the turf. Instead of bringing his mistake to the notice of the umpires or his team-mates, Ramdin returned the ball to the square-leg umpire and joined his team-mates in the celebratory huddle. Square-leg umpire Nigel Llong, however, alerted the third umpire and the replay revealed the chance had been dropped. Misbah, who was on 0, was called back and went on to hit an unbeaten 96.

Pakistanis pretty much always cheat blatantly... that is one part of their game that hasn't changed over the years...Their society is much more corrupt and cut throat.. and everybody comes out of the gate skeptical, devious and looking for opportunity to score over others.. Ramdin potentially facing a 2 match ban is just BS. Australians do so much more against the spirit of the game (pushing pawar off the stage.. claiming catches that weren't controlled...ricki ponting acting as the 3rd umpire).. where is the ban for all that?? ICC as usual trying to flexing it's commie muscles.

sherpatenzig Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Pakistanis taking a high ground on cheating is nonsense. Throughout they have been lifting seam of the ball and their umpires use to cheat more than their player. Banning Ramdin is excessive.

cowboysfan Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 this is the right move but there is no consistency with the ICC,how many times have we seen cheating aussies get away with it without any suspension?
