Robelinda Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The third umpire was conceptualized by former Sri Lankan Test cricketer, and current cricket writer Mahinda Wijesinghe and debuted in Test cricket in November,1992 at Kingsmead, Durban for the South Africa vs. India series. Karl Liebenberg and Cyril Mitchley were TV umpires in this match. Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to be dismissed (run out) by using television replays in the second day of the Test scoring 11. video [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ9jmJP04JA]Historic cricket incident, 1st batsmen ever dismissed by 3rd umpire SACHIN TEDULKAR - YouTube[/ame]

Clarke Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I recall in the hero cup as well, they used the green light for out.
CSK Fan Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 ... and then started Sachin's hatred for decisions taken with technological help which dont give "benefit of doubt" to the batsmen as the onfield umpires Really? In fact Sachin is one of the batsmen who was screwed most in his prime by wrong decisions from opposition umpires, particularly while traveling overseas.
