Donny Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 No idea what bigd is talking about but I can ease your pain a bit, rads. I don't expect they should, neither did I say the players should, share their earnings. If you had read the thread, you'd also know the Aussies don't get bonuses.
King Tendulkar Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 If you had read the thread, you'd also know the Aussies don't get bonuses. Yes they do. Why do you kee repeating that lie. They get to share the prize money as you clearly stated! This is what people call a win bonus. eg if they lose they do not get this money, if they win they get this money as a bonus! They get a WIN BONUS
King Tendulkar Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 It is still a bonus based upon them winning. Which is called a WIN BONUS! The BCCI no doubt did not realise the impact of 20/20 and how big a 20/20 WC win would be as it was a fledgling tourny. Thus contacts did not have properly big bonuses. Thus they are merley rewarding them based on the magnitude of the victory. You had pre determined win bonuses, we determined them after, so what! You are saying BCCI should give money to charity for win. Yet you are not saying cricket australia should give money to charity for their WC wins (note it should be back dated to first aussie wc win for consisitency). Please explain this massive double standard on you part? Still no explanation of this double standard?
Donny Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 You are quoting yourself, dsr. You explain.
King Tendulkar Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 You are quoting yourself' date=' dsr. You explain.[/quote'] Smoke screen by you cos you dont want to answer the question. You have done this with me previously when you did not want to answer and never did. As the answer would have been slighlty against your beloved australia so you cant bring yoursellf to type it!
Predator_05 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 It is still a bonus based upon them winning. Which is called a WIN BONUS! Dude, it can't be a bonus if it has been pre-determined. That is their normal prize money. Did the Indian cricketers know that they would receive money from their boards prior to the Twenty20 World Cup ? No. It wasn't pre-determined. Yuvraj's Porsche 911 for example, wasn't a prize associated with the tournament like the $490,000 (or whatever the total prize money for the winners was). All the extra cash they are making are bonuses.
coffee_rules Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Didnt they do this (parade etc) after they won the 2007 WC. What's the BFD he has been babbling about?
coffee_rules Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I'm not aware Cricket Australia gave the Aussie players giagantic bonuses for winning anything. Maybe you know better and would like to enlighten us. Because your board shares TV revenue with the players. Our board don't do jack sh*t. They grab all the money earned by TV revenues and fatten their pockets and fat asses. This bonus is one way of ensuring the revenues are shared among those who earn it for the board.
coffee_rules Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Condescending in every which way donny.... Talking of poverty....I am sure that wouldn't comeout on a non indian forum .(Actually, that is quite obscene from and in a country where there is so much poverty. ) Why do you expect the players to share their earnings?....most of them are young middle class boys and for some atleast, this is the most amount they will be earning in theirlife. They have every right to keep the money and have some fun with it. Do people in so called richer nations rush of to the nearestcharities when they strike rich? Why this expectation from the Indian boys.We unlike your team don't win so often...how much of their bonuses do they donate? Don't take it personally...but your post reeked of superiority . I do agree that the drama by the BCCI was extremely obscene. If you had mentioned that...it would be ok....but I don't see how giving players money for their good performance and their accepting it without guilt can be obscene . :adore: Good one, girl! I have heard the same arguments from goras when India tested the nuclear weapons, talk about improvement in infrasturcture/IT or even as trivial as TV channels/FM stations. Why do you guys need these when 1/2 the population is below the poverty.
Donny Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 So, coffee, you also have not read the thread. :hmmmm: How can you pick out a quote and say it's good without checking whether it's actually addressing the facts ? It wasn't.
coffee_rules Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 So, coffee, you also have not read the thread. :hmmmm: How can you pick out a quote and say it's good without checking whether it's actually addressing the facts ? It wasn't. You showed deep concenr for the poverty in India in the context of players earning fat bonuses. The CEO of Qantas earned extra bonus for his company's performace. Would you cry over that too? You ignored the point that Aussie teams don't get bonuses because CA has shared the revenues earned with the players. There is no such thing for the indians. The bonuses given is a paltry sum compared to what Aussies get on revenue sharing. Read this and weep: http://www.smh.com.au/news/Cricket/Test-oneday-stars-retain-right-to-revenue-sharing/2005/04/17/1113676647453.html ------------------------------------------------------------------ Test, one-day stars retain right to revenue sharing April 18, 2005 A major contract crisis has been averted with Cricket Australia and the players' union reaching agreement over a new pay deal, ending months of negotiations. The CA board yesterday endorsed the proposed four-year memorandum of understanding which lets the national team retain its right to a 25 per cent share of CA revenue. CA and the Australian Cricketers' Association are yet to sign the new deal, however no changes are planned and it will come into effect on July 1. The agreement ends months of painstaking negotiations, which began late last year when the Australian team was preparing to host New Zealand and Pakistan. It is also a major victory for the ACA, which retained its right to have its members earn a share of CA revenue rather than have players allocated fixed contracts. "I think you'll find we're quite happy with where we're at ... it's a good result," an ACA spokeswoman said. CA chairman Bob Merriman said the new deal was fair to all. Advertisement "It pays Australian elite cricket players well, it encourages young, up-and-coming athletes to choose cricket as their professional sporting career option and it offers Australian cricket improved ability to more aggressively drive participation in the game at a community level," Merriman said. Had agreement not been reached on the new deal before June 30, it would have meant players could sign sponsorship deals with companies competing with CA's sponsors. That might have cast doubt over players' futures, similar to the situation in the West Indies, where players have sponsorship deals in rivalry with companies that back the board. Neither the ACA nor CA would discuss details of the new agreement. CA will make a final decision on Allan Border's successor as national selector at its next meeting, in early June. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the same reason, highlighted above, Indian players get the bonuses, so that people can think of this as a profession and are encouraged to take it up in large numbers.

King Tendulkar Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 He will not reply to coffee. When confronted with tough questions and facts which basically proves he is wrong or means he has to criticise austarlia he will run for cover.
yoda Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 OTH we take pot shots (and go even further) at the aussies all the time. :haha:
Mandrake Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Actually, that is quite obscene from and in a country where there is so much poverty. Hopefully, some of the players either refused this insult or donated their share to charity. Obscene..insult? So anyone who earns that kind of money in India should feel morally insulted because the country is so poor.....what logic:giggle: India is alive and kicking.....we don't need this "I'm so sorry you are such a poor country" crap from anyone.
Tugga Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 curious, who were the true inhabitants of Australia?
coffee_rules Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 curious' date=' who were the true inhabitants of Australia?[/quote'] They are extinct.
Donny Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Very sad replies indeed. You've obviously decided to take your own slant on my comments. Many players from all countries give generously to charities - I didn't say they don't. Still, some of you keep throwing this 'You live in Australia so you must be an Aussie fan and are also (now) responsible for the shameful treatment of the original owners of your country and their descendants' stuff at me.
observer1 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 inane, fatuous, smug. not untypical in origin of a place where people run over boars for entertainment
Donny Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Of course, intellectual poverty, as displayed by observer1, is a worldwide problem as well.
