Phenomenal crowd turnout! Not too long ago cricket was a dying interest in the Caribbean with lackluster following. The atmosphere today was almost sub-continent like. Also loved their joy at beating us! Batsmen high-fiving on the pitch, crowds celebrating with a deafening uproar! To West Indies on a great performance :hatsoff: We made sure it took some getting. :hatsoff: Edit: also, feck those vuvuzelas! The broadcaster needs to filter out that frequency on air. There's nothing else that is on that frequency in regular broadcast apart from Rusell Arnold and I don't think anybody will miss him.

Couldn't agree more. I would love to go for a cricket World-Cup being held in the Caribbean. The sun, sand, the amazing spirit of it all. Pure unadulterated fun! The ICC should do everything they can to continue this uptrend, cos them Carribeanwallas bring the fun into cricket

When India travel, money follows

The stark truth, as the WICB repeatedly states, is that the only profitable home tours are those by India and England (with their host of travelling supporters and Sky TV coverage more so than the advertisers). All the others result in losses in a region of steep hotel and travel costs, small populations and increasingly struggling economies. When Zimbabwe toured last March, there was a sprinkling of advertising boards on the ground, all from WICB's few sponsors. By then, Digicel had dropped its title sponsorship, a hint of its later involvement with the CPL.

I wish this was the case as I quite like the Windies but this isnt quite true, as there were many empty seats, lots of SL/India fans and wait till the tests you will see 10% capacity! Also re their performance, they almost bottled it in typical WI style, stupid shots by Charles and Sammy when they were losing wickets and needed less than a run a ball. Despite that, would love to travel to the Windies to watch cricket!
