Austin 3:!6 Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 It seems to be a preety long time since team India got this big a break from cricket. India has a reputation of playing continuous cricket and this break seems to be far too long. Yes we have few A tours going on, but international cricket is on hold. Question is - how you see this break will turn out? Will it give ample time for the players to get physically and mentally fit for the upcoming challenge or staying away from the game for so long will impact their form?
G_B_ Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 which is why we are easing into the new season with ODIs with Aus at home.

G_B_ Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 provided we prepare some turners , we should be ok IMO. Lets not forget that our A team has played some tough cricket. Our other India A team is currently playing v NZ. At the same time i dont mind if you lose matches there provided we do give exposure to newer players.
GrandMasterSaxy Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Half of the Indian team are playing cricket anyway (India A) so it's rest only for mainstream players like Dhoni, Kohli, Jadeja, Bhuvi etc. Indian team definitely deserved the long break and BCCI did the best by sending A team to Zim which extended the break for senior players like Dhoni.
Pagalpanti Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Its well deserved break. I think after this, they play non stop cricket up until Eng tour in 2014 with just week's gap between every series.
saneindian Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 They will play enough cricket through CLT20 / Challenger Trophy/ WI A etc..so should not be a problem

Most players will come back rotund from all the pigging out during India's festival season.
rahulrulezz Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 It feels like eternity watching our folks in blue colours. Can't wait for this stupid Champions trophy to finish.
