Brainfade Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 At least 13 dead in Navy Yard shooting Yet another tragic gun related incident. :(( RIP, victims. Now, am waiting for President Obama's "If I had a son, he would look like the killer Aaron Alexis ..." speech. Ya know the race-baiting one he gave after Trayvon Martin's killing. The gunman:

DomainK Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 They have very strong sentiments for guns. They can risk their children's lives, but they can't give up guns.
CSK Fan Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Maybe we need to have one thread for all American mass shootings?

dial_100 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 These things wont surprise us that they are happening. So many times we have seen misuse of guns.. Gosh.. RIP.
Brainfade Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 That is such a cheap-shot. You are better than that, CA. Seriously, CA, cmon man. Agreed. But, I am still trying to get over the cheapness of the President fanning racial flames when Trayvon was killed. The only reason he used the "if I had a son ..." line was because Trayvon was an AA man killed by a non-AA goon. When the race-roles are reversed or if there is a B-on-B or W-on-W crime, there is no such empathy. I just don't get it. I should let it go.
hhunaeh Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Isn't this because AAs were the ones enslaved by non AAs?What is so surprising about it?

Did the President go and hi-fi people with a big smile during the ceremony arranged to remember them? Not everything we do needs to be interpreted thru the lens of a race relations. If a brown guy in his 20s was hurt in an accident, I would feel some level of empathy because I belong to the same category too. But that does not mean my reaction would be the opposite if the white in his 20s was hurt.
