urbestfriend Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 +1. Get well soon Trott. Depression is a serious medical condition. I hope he beats it to make a comeback to the international side. It is not depression, it is stress due to feeling heightened level of expectation and not able to cope with it...
Pagalpanti Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Depression is nothing to make fun about. Hope he gets well soon. As far as cricket is concerned England wont miss him one bit, in fact Bell will prove to be a better no.3
Scarves Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 It does make you wonder on how many other players have similar issues, I mean there isn't enough relaxation periods for crickets compared to 10 years ago.
Pagalpanti Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Moreover look at the scrutiny they've received from English media, it seems like they've lost 10 tests in a row.
ganeshran Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Oh' date=' will you STFU? What do you want him to do? Continue in the team well knowing that he wouldn't improve the form overnight and let the team down?[/quote'] Just ignore KT. He has a serious attention wh0ring problem coupled with a single digit IQ.
Stuge Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 There you go--Seems like he got too scared of facing Michelle Johnson .He looked clueless against him in the first test.If an Indian batsmen had done this he would have labeled as Flat Track bully by now . That's one point other can be too much of cricket is the reason for it .
bulbul Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 :hatsoff: to Trott putting team above self. lol at people who try to put their own agenda every time :banghead:
King Tendulkar Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Just ignore KT. He has a serious attention wh0ring problem coupled with a single digit IQ. Well am sure I am not the only when he thinks if he had scored a ton in last test, he would have been suddenly been ok to stay in oz and play
urbestfriend Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well am sure I am not the only when he thinks if he had scored a ton in last test' date=' he would have been suddenly been ok to stay in oz and play[/quote'] You don't understand stress illness, do you ? Its like putting too much pressure on yourself which will prevent him playing his natural game which will increase his stress..Its kind of cyclic and a break would help him.

This is not home sickness or general depression. This is about his pants batting and not scoring runs. Cant tough it out can he? Like I said if scoring runs would be fine, cos not cant hack it. The stress is cos cant handle 90mph bpuncers, maybe line up some trundelrs and stress goes away?

Jeez, it is nothing to do with his ability to play bouncers..Stress is psychological which will afect your performance irrespective of who is bowling.
King Tendulkar Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I ask again. If he had got a ton in last match would he have gone home?
urbestfriend Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Let me try again..:--D He wouldn't have got a ton because apparently he is suffering from psychological illness called stress.
Raghav_12 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Depression is nothing to make fun about. Hope he gets well soon. As far as cricket is concerned England wont miss him one bit, in fact Bell will prove to be a better no.3 I'll not trivialize depression as medical condition, but don't think taking a break from an ongoing tour is going to help. Depression is won over as much with confidence and courage as with medication. I don't think at the end of this he would be feeling good about running away like this.
SLICKR392 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 A honest move but whatever. Chicken :hehe:
King Tendulkar Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I think he has gone home cos of the stress of not getting runs and getting bounced out by MJ all the time. Thats why no sympathy If stress due to life on the road fair enough. But this is all stress due to becoming rubbish. In which case, man up and tough it out. He is mentally weak Makes you realise what a tough cookie and legend sachin was for doing this for 24 years. I also am very suspicious of Trott here. He may also be going home cos he knows cant handle it this seires and will fail and get dropped i.e carrer over. Now he can avoid that and may save his carrer and come back on flat tracks against trundle attack. Could be nothing to do with stress at all and totally selfish motivations to save his carrer
