Jonathan Trott has returned home from England's tour of Australia with a stress-related illness. It was announced this morning by Andy Flower and Hugh Morris that Trott has returned home to the UK and will take a break from all forms of cricket for the forseeable future. He will take not further part in the Ashes tour and his return to playing will be determined at a later date. Trott said: "I don't feel right that I am playing knowing that I am not 100 per cent and I cannot currently operate at the level I have come to expect. "My priority now is to take a break from cricket so that I can focus on my recovery. I want to wish my team-mates all the best for the remainder of the tour."
:((:(( Hope he gets well soon.

reports on the english radio that the aussies taunted Trott about it. this in unconfirmed mind you. Trott was one of the worse number 3 innings i have seen in a long time.

What's with English players and depression /mental stress on tour ..first - Trescothick in 2006' date=' Michael Yardy in 2011 and now, Monty Panesar also in 2013 and now , Trott in 2013 Ashes :omg:[/quote'] Maybe, they are the only ones who are coming forward with the real reason. And other players don't go public.

He just said that Cricket Australia and the players didn't know about it. The English tabloid press will make up anything to slander the Aussies and vice versa.

Amazing how Gaurdian was reporting about his practise before a few days that he is ready for the challenge down under ready to tame Mitch Johnson and 2 bad innings and illness strikes.

i like trott but i think this might easily be a case of chickening out against johnson's thunderbolts!! he had a terrible in the ashes this summer, maybe he doesn't want to see that happen again

Have to say he looked completely dazed and confused when he was facing Johnson. I don't think he would have made a comeback in the series after what happened in 1st test.

Trying to save his carrer. As he knows has bad series it would be the end Thats the problem with getting foreign mercenaries in. Its about them only and not the country
That's too harsh. He is a professional cricketer. Quite sure he would have the same hunger to perform whether he is playing for South Africa or England. Its not as if he is playing his first series. He has been a solid, proven performer for England.

Oh, will you STFU? What do you want him to do? Continue in the team well knowing that he wouldn't improve the form overnight and let the team down?

Get well son Trott. Cricket or no cricket' date=' hope you recover soon and start leading a normal life. Cricket can always wait.[/quote'] +1. Get well soon Trott. Depression is a serious medical condition. I hope he beats it to make a comeback to the international side.
