Should Kohli bat at 4 in tests now?

Hi everyone, I remember reading around that Kohli had a great average at number 4 in ODIs and we all know how good he is at number 3. In test cricket, we have seen that sometimes he does not play his natural game. Whilst he has done reasonably well so far in tests, his game is much different. Could it be that he is a much better option at the top of the order? I'd rather have him at 4 in tests now that SRT has retired. I'm sure Kohli-Pujara will have some good partnerships too. Have rahane at 5, rohit at 6. What do you all think? Thanks in advance!

Yes, He is a batsman who likes to take time, build his innings and dictate terms to the opposition by setting the agenda. At no.5 in Tests, I believed the situation was already created for him .I would rather see him early to see big innings from him.

He is going to be the #4 now. There is no question about that (unless msd has one of his brain freezes). The real question is - can he make #4 his own? SRT made it his own Dravid made 3 his own To some extent Laxy did 5 his own Can kohli rohit and pujara do this? They will be given it now. Upto them to grab it and make it their own

If we play 6 specialist batsmen, perhaps having Rahane at 4 is a better idea, will give us a decent mis of experienced and rookie players in the middle order. Pujara with some experience at 3, Rahane at 4, Kohli with some experience at 5, Rohit at 6, Dhoni the most experienced at 7 Not sure if Kohli will agree to this though. He would definitely want the no 4 slot with Rohit at 5 and Rahane at 6

After Sachin, laxman middle order looks weak now But Kohli Sharma Rahane Do you think that murli will open with dhawan, is that right, i do not think so, we need a good opener if rohit is coming in the middle order, rohit has done great job while opening against west indies, but we should not forget, both are different situation now
