He did well in England in CT. But besides for tests picking Ishant above Bhuvan was a mistake both on SA and NZL tours. I am no fan of Bhuvan. I am just against over-rating bowlers based on "clock speeds".

but Ishant was still the highest wicket taker from both sides in NZ, so nit the worse decision in hindsight. No one rates bowlers on clock speeds. But speed is a requirement most times. If pace was the only criteria, I wouldnt have rated Pandey or Kulkarni. They are far better bet in tests as they get bounce. A swing bowler who lacks pace has a very short shelflife which is a universal truth. History does not support a 130 short swing bowler has a long-term success in tests. He can do well in ODIs though.

Thing conditions in NZ were bit on flatter side. BK is not the only bowler with such skills in Indian domestic cricket which is full of such bowlers but such bowlers rarely succeed in test cricket. Give me one example of a short 5'8" 130k successful swing bowler in test cricket. I am as harsh on Yadav seeing him bowl this IPL. I dont spare anyone. I was harsh on Aaron too. I am not at all harsh on BK. I like him but I cant remember a single bowler like BK being successful in tests. In ODIs, he should be regular. I had no issue if he had a bit of pace to go with swing. He is still a one trick pony. Most of our bowlers lack a thing or two. BK too. It is not like I dont like him, but he doesnt give much hope because our issue is not when conditions are helpful, even Ishant picked wickets in NZ and first SA test when there was something for him, but when there is no help like in Wellington. England will tell us more if he plays tests and he should ahead of Zak.
