+1. Should still play at 5 though - we need versaile players at 5. People who can adjust their game as per the tempo.

Has potential to make big doubles or triples. A great stabilizer at #3 since he has shown ability to shut shop which is key to saving tests. Ideally you want him at #3 where he can still hold one end up and not worry about shielding the tail. At #5 he will run out of partners. Pujara can be looked at #5.

Pujara does not inspire much confidence at 5. Besides, if you want big 100s, Pujara is better suited. As of now, if move Rahane to 3, then all 3 of our best bats will be in the top 4. It will become like SL (before Matthews) where they'd collapse regularly after the first few wickets.

I am told that Shreyas Iyer is in a similar mould and style to Rahane. Ie both are talked about in similar breath in mumbai cricketing circles Dont know how true that is.

Rahane at #3 is best bet to carry the legacy of the Wall. Avg at 48 will only get better. We can groom someone else at 5 if chepu flops there.
