In the first set, first row is India's last 25 odis and 2nd row is Aus last 25 games. Look at our Batting avg of 33.6 as against theirs as 45 but their bowling avg is 27 as against ours is 35. I dont see how seniors whould be responsible for the bowling performance. Like all those 2nd string bowlers bowling leg stump line conceding 6+ runs per over in last 25 games cannot be entirely blaimed on seniors. Majority of the games lost because of these pathetic bowlers. Now in recent times, we have played many low score games. And that reflects our Runs conceded per 6 balls number. P -- W - L - T -NR %W HS - LS - MC -LC - BAv BoAv R/6p C/6b 25 13 11 0 1 54% 413 148 320 156 33.6 35.6 5.20 5.25 25 16 8 0 -- 1 67% 377 148 350 91 - 45.8 27.0 6.02 5.13 But when we look at 1-on-1 with Aus, the difference is quite obvious. Our batting avg didn't go down as much. Meaning Aus didn;t bowl lot btter than their average which is conceding at 5.02 per over as against their Regular avg of 5.13. But they have managed to score at 5.83 against us. So we concede about 0.6 runs more to them. I would hate to give all the credit to Aus batters here. This could also mean, pathetic bowling, fielding, dropped catches, lesser planning to each individual batter. 25 4 18 0 3 18% 303 125 359 193 27.2 42.0 5.02 5.83 25 18 4 0 3 82% 359 193 303 125 42.0 27.2 5.83 5.02 So despite them totally planning their game against our batters, our batters have scored 5.02 runs per over against them. The results are not totally screwed because of Seniors, they are mostly because of our bowlers. Classic example is after getting 5-6 wkts, Broad and co managed to score about 100 runs to win the game. Blame seniors for that...right?? When bowlers get at par with Aussies and still we lose, i would start to believe that Seniors are not required. But until then please bring another theory. We barely score 27 runs per wkt against aussies that means in last 25 games, Our each batsman avg between 25 to 35. Lets read these numbers for each individuals. SRT --- 25 1080 43.20 SG ----- 25 543 23.60 RD ----- 25 479 22.09 Yuv ---- 23 637 30.33 Dhoni - 10 227 32.42 Now I dont know why we like to wrap everything around SRT. Even we dont stop from comparing him with 20 years old fielder. THIS intelligent talk of SRT not scoring in final is crap. Every game against Aussies is lot more than a final and look what these bunch of crap batters have done against them in last few years... How in the world do you expect us to win against them. He has scored almost double than everyone out there in the list..INCLUDING Yuvraj and Dhoni.... Try some other tricks... He is old, he is still a lion..There are some young players in the list and how much youthness they have is visible in this list. We all know who is minow basher in our team..

The whole problem with SRT is numbers barely touch the man. Numbers say precisely F*CK ALL when you're talking about the sheer brilliance of his innings against Australia in 1998, his innovation in devising a new plan to combat spinners bowling into the rough in a blind spot and then destroying them and the classical beauty of his strokeplay. Statistics don't say anything about how he's risen in big occasions before in other World Cups and pressure games, or his sheer skill and determination to get runs - like scoring a double hundred with barely a drive on the off side to just avoid getting out in that manner. If you've seen Tendulkar bat and can appreciate the sport, then you're already convinced that the man is brilliant, a genius and obviously one of the greats. If haven't seen Tendulkar bat, you've missed a great deal. If you've seen Tendulkar bat and still need statistics to convince you of how good he is, you're a f*cking idiot and should watch a sport like baseball or ice hockey for slogging and swipes instead of pure class.

Boss, Of many things one thing I like about you is you backing a player's overall stats not just 1 type of game, like just say finals, or "WHEN IT MATTERS MOST" crap. If anyone has any doubt about how Aussies play their games then go watch last 6 game they played against us. From there just see....this so called, old, out of form player out performs all the competitors by double margin. Now I dont want to use bad words but guys....why cant we move our focus away from Big 3 and look at remaining 3. Salil....That is where I am going....Stop looking at big three...they are fading so their low scores are justified....look at those C and VC....freaking avg of 30....They are in their prime and what have they done is mere 30 avg...Look at #4, 5 and 6 of Aussies then start attacking the seniors....My point is ...Jr are not any better after playing for 3-4 years of cricket as well.. Now convince me how in the world are they going to have big avg of 45 against aussies and when. Everytime they get opportunity, say when big 3 are out quickly, we should see how the remaining perform..

Very nice stat work there Dial , you have taken a lot of pains. Hats off ! Still,Stats dont tell the exact story all the time. We need to look into the individual matches to understand what really transpired.
take you individual matches and shove them where the sun dont shine. he makes a very very valid point and if still continue to ignore it, you are about as intelligent as a fossilized dodo.

Kindly find some other non-abrasive means to vent your frustrations. A message board isnt exactly the ideal choice. Everyone has a right to voice their opinions, Who are you to pronounce judgments on the intellect of people based on what you see here ? Of course , if you are totally incapable of dignified debate , Nobody can do anything about it.
