India slipped up against England these boys are much better than what their position suggests. But thats the world cup for you. There are no second chances. You need to bring your A game all the time to the knockouts. This reminds me of the 1987 world cup. A tournament which India should have won.

Probably Zol's captaincy hurt us. Iyer should have played ahead of Bhui when it mattered. Then that 49th over to Hooda. The abuses didn't help either.

yup the english lads knew how to get under the Indian's skins. Zol did not captain well. As you said the Hooda over when he had other options did not make sense. Zol himself has had a poor WC. Lost form at the crucial time.

Yes he probably can't have the same authority over the team if he himself is struggling. BTW this loss doesn't mean much. We won the U19 WC last time around but there is yet to be anyone from that team even close to the national side and on the other hand from this side I can see Samson and Zol playing for us within next 2-3 years probably or at least in the radar of selectors..

The last WC was 2 years ago so the boys at max must be 21-22 , you cant expect people to be drafted from under 19 to senior side. Kohli was the exception. 2016 onwards then maybe you can make a call then. Under 19 WC winning squads thus far have given us yuvi, kohli and sir as big established players.

Raina, Karthik, Kaif, Pathan, Pujara, Rahane, Ishant, Dhawan all made their name first through U19. Rahane and Ishant were part of 2008 U19 teams, respectively. Look i am not saying good players dont make it through under 19 to the international side. But i think out of every team playing the under 19 world cup as a tournament 2-3 make it to the international first team. In that sense under 25s might be of more value considering cricketers are more matured.

That is because he has played for 2 different U19 teams and 2 U19 WCs. He played more matches so scored more runs. There is nothing special about it. He could not do it when it mattered the most. That is where Unmukt was miles ahead of any of these U19 players who scored the most no. of 100s by an U19 batsman and that too most of them in knockouts. He always thrived under pressure.
