Not only U..they barely looked in form against any decent spin bowler... so restricting Aus was a good job but not a great achievement considering the form they showed through out this tournament Compared to them SA played better than all the other non-sub continent teams... think they will present a better challenge for you guys..lets see Regarding the loss to Eng..Broad himself said that "It was the wettest field he ever played on" thats when they were batting as well...& it was like 75% advantage to England.. No spinner could even hold the ball properly let alone spin or the ball gripping..there was no spin & the ball just kept on coming to the bat..catyches went down because the fielders couldnt hold on to the ball if there was no dew..Do u seriously think that Eng would've played any better than NZ ? And Mendis was unsuccessful because of the dew factor to a major degree..PAkis & India play him well.. but Eng & NZ do not... look you play the cards you are dealt. on paper, aus was to be a very competitive team to india - they were in form and dominated the last few world t20s. So beating them is by no means watered down just because they threw wickets away.. who put the pressure on them bowling good lines and having fielders close in? Thats right India! I dont get why dew and wet ball is used as an excuse for every other team but when its india who uses that excuse, we get accused of complaining and making false excuses. You still have to bowl well and teams countered catching the wet ball by practicing
Square Drive Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Once SL accidentally got into a tough group in the 2nd round of a T20 WC where they had to face some mighty teams and this is what happened, N8Cz-SjRAvY I guess that was the only occasion the two teams met in a T20 WC. No worries about our batting...we'll be facing the crappiest pack of bowlers in the history of the game...:yay: Can't wait to see little master Kusal ass-whip the likes of boovi,shamy judda and the other hapless pie chuckers ...:two_thumbs_up: :hysterical::cantstop::hysterical:

Group A-Group B Australia (1)- India (2) Pakistan (3)- South Africa (4) New Zealand (5)- England (6) Sri Lanka (7)- West Indies (8) Zimbabwe (9)- Bangladesh (10) Canada (12)- Ireland (11) Kenya (14)- Netherlands (13) Now look the draw for 2015 Pool A- England (1), Australia (4), srilanka (5),Bangladesh (8), New Zealand (9) etc Pool B- South Africa (2), India (3), Pakistan (6),WI (7), Zim (10), etc. Always easy for Lanka.

Yeah, this is what I have always been saying. SL always has it easy from WC 2007 with respect to groupings in league stage with teams which cant play spin that well, when the WC was held in more subcontinent conditions. 2015 may be different, but still England and NZ are not that tough in that pool for SL. 2007- WI (more like subcontinent conditions). 2011- India 2012-SL 2014- Bangladesh 2016-India

If u look at the 3 matches.. The only match SL conceded a big score was against Eng..And that when they had the wettest field of all the games they played. All the other matches with SA, Netherlands & NZ was excellent bowling..infact SL hav had some of the best bowling innings in this tournament Dew is not an excuse but a fact... India didnt get heavy dew in a single game in this tournament right ? Lets see u bowl in a match where u get heavy dew Like SL did against Eng & lets see how good Ashwin, Jadeja & Co. will do right ? Then we can have a fair estimate

Win at any cost by chucking, denying opposition batsman, over appealing, standing ground after getting out, all makes it pretty bad. Add to it they are always in a group which dont play the spinners well. Srilankans are good people, but not their players.
