Before the match started - Captain pathetic, team not s good, another 5-0 whitewash After day 1 - Now lets bat on and score 600 After Day 2 - Bowlers have disappointed, lucky wicket of cook, England to put 500, draw certain After day 3 - Captain pathetic, bowlers not so good, we will collapse in 2nd innings and lose After day 4- Horrible batting, defensive mindset, loss looming After lunch on day 5 - Captain pathetic, team pathetic, we will lose, lets try to salvage a draw 1 hour after lunch on day 5 - Well fought we could save this now Last hour before tea - Defensive captain, will hurt us in rest of the series As bad a captain Dhoni is, alas captains dont have the flexibility of changing so much so quickly
I dont see how the above points are not mutually exclusive, In fact, the horrible captaincy part is pretty consistent across all the points. Extreme defensiveness in each and every decision

116th Over. Prior appeals for a Caught Behind when there was NOT EVEN AN EDGE from Ishant Sharma. Where is Ian Chappell now? Living in his shell?
prior ain't the captain. Everyone looks up to the captain for playing cricket in the right spirit.

What has captaincy got to do with appealing? Fine then, why din't Chappel raise his voice when Sanga was the keeper and captain. All he does behind the stumps is cry.

Why is it so difficult to understand that the aim of a declaration is not just a win? It is signaling intent. A few wickets down for England would have left India on a high note going into next match. Some of the logic used in the match thread by Dhoni fans Our batsmen will get good practise. And who were batting, BK and Ishant Let's tire their bowlers out. And who were bowling? Cook and Ballance Dhoni fans mad as loons. Madder than hatters.

BUMP Both batted really well to save India and go past scoring 800 runs for the match! Binny Huge thank you to binny for his 70 odd and congrats. But he needs to take a wicket or two. On a spicy pitch he might do but why not add another seamer with kumar at 8 so you have 4 proper seamers on a great bowling track? Loved the way he played. Elegant, quick runs, good defence. Has way more maturity than jadeja. Bhuvi My MOM (J Anderson wtf?) Two 50s and 5 wickets in his debut overseas test match. Has runs in England.. will do him confidence. I think he also changed the tail's mentality. "If i can hang in there, so can you. If i can score a 50, you can score 20-30 odd too). Shami before the 1st innings was a typical tail ender wicket but now he has confidence. Great stuff. Doesn't need to be projected as an allrounder. Just a proper seamer who is no mug with the bat. Same for shami. NO ALLROUNDERS.. JUST gritty with intent. Jadeja Ohhhh ravi jadeja.. bye bye. Seriously did nothing aside from that last partnership but even ashwin could have done that. Get ashwin in, attack, get some wickets and he bats really well. With ashwin at 7 and kumar at 8 and a stronger tail, we bat deeper.

The only thing consistent is the fickle minded fans who change their views every 5 minutes and then claim to be the all knowing ones.

sachin fans taling abt dhoni fans :hehe: when 10th wicket scores 198 , no intent will help .. only time when some indian captain showed some intent was when dravid declared when sachin was at 194* and for the next few days ganges water level was increased by a meter :hehe:
