Arey bhai, its getting worse as well. I grew up there and know how pathetic the situation is there and how cops work 24hrs a day, are understaffed, under paid and have no time for local issues. Saket is a huge suburb in south delhi, i spoke with a thulla few years ago and he said " jee we have 5 people for this thana and 3 are always on VIP duty and the other 2 are working 18 hrs a day nahi to patroling chodo, FIR likhne ke liye bhi staff nahi hai" What we need is a state police and a central/federal force. Bottom line is people are not safe and no one is doing anything about it.
problem is not central or state. otherwise Bihar has a state run police. Problem is understaffed. Delhi is better off with it being under Central Government as they can propose to have combined police force for Delhi + NCR. state run will have 4 different state polices co-ordinating

But main question is did it became worse because of Delhi police not under Delhi govt? stats disagree.

In Bihar CM is blamed for L&O, dilli or bihar ? The problem is understaffing but then who will lose/win their job/seat if it isnt worked on ? As for NCR, Dilli police is limited to dilli and Haryana/UP have their state police forces right at the borders.

Who is accountable ,whom people in delhi can punish, who will do this study ? Im not saying if people could punish kangress they would, they clearly dont do it most of the times and hence Kangress raj is yet to end but at least some people can hold their CM accountable.

Did not get your first point. roles and responsibilities are not changed by the blame game. Understaffing is a problem in all developing countries my friend. You cannot change it in a day. Always comapre a state number with India wide number. Also compare if it is increasing or decreasing before blaming Congress or any other party. Thats why I said - Delhi + NCR as a policing model should be combined. Borders are very sacrosant for police. Again this is my opinion, which should work well for the region as opposed to working across 3 different state run police.

oh yea.. sorry, point was that if there is crime and bad L&O in Bihar, whom would you blame for it, CM? in delhi CM says its not my problem and the central govt doesnt give a flying feck as long as VIPs are safe. thats what is happening. As for staffing, of course its not something that can be solved in a few weeks but there is no one working on improving the situation or staffing for Delhi police. No one is accountable and there are no results, what can people do ?

snatching and vehicle theft are the biggest problem in delhi nowadays (along with women safety) ,these figures are ridiculously high and overflowing population in the capital aint helping the cause. i hope AAP forms the govn in delhi and lets see if they get the DP to work vehemently and bring some reforms

absolutely. will hope for AAP government in Delhi after re elections. lets even see if they have any guts to last 5 years and solve peoples problems
