Interesting thing is, since the other parties won't dare bring the govt. down in the first few months, they should be able to pass some reforms (in sync with the coming central level reforms). Tawde is pushing for Punkaja and the munde faction. This is always what i feared. Growth in the Maha BJP has been inorganic. They have not grown in a natural way. The way they rose to power in Karnataka. There is no pyramid structure. Nitin Gadkari appears to be on a collision course with Modi. He is either angling for CM or will push one of his faction for CM. Appears to have the backing of Khadse. This is a big problem for the BJP. Khadse CM the viderbha faction says no. Make Phadnavis CM Khadse says no. Made Gadkari faction CM the Munde faction goes into revolt. This is why the BJP should have ceeded the CM chair to the sena and taken all the cabinet posts. Things would be different with Munde. He was the undisputed number 1 in the state. As things stand BJP should go for a minority government. You dont want Uddhav Thakarey whispering into the ears of the Munde faction in Marathwada within the government. Best BJP go alone and take support from the sena/ncp on an issue by issue basis. Something happens to Yeddy and they are in the same boat again with the Ananth Kumar faction. Yeddy is in his 70s. Anything happens to him you have back to square 1 with infighting. From where are you getting this report, I know a faction of maha bjp wants Gadkari to be the cm of Maharashtra, but the bjp high command has already selected fadnavis as cm; beside Gadkari has a bigger role to pay in national level politics, pankaja is too young to handle this post;she has been barely 5 years old in politics, right now fadnavis is the second most powerful leader in maha bjp after Gadkari,though khadse is much senior,coincidentally both Gadkari and fadnavis comes from nagpur,however if bjp wanted to project Gadkari, they would have done it long time back and it doesn't matter how powerful u r ,u r not above the high command, who happens to have balls to take strong decision ,like Vijay goel found out . I think they will get enough MLAs from other small parties/independents and/or make some MLAs of NCP/Cong resign to form the Govt on their own. IF Shiv Sena does form part of the Govt then I expect it to happen on unconditional basis and nothing near the 1995 formula that Shiv Sena is dreaming about. Thats where he differs from Vijay Goel. While the RSS also backs Fadnavis, Gadkari is their point man and poster child. The real game is to push somebody from the Gadkari faction to the CM chair. That way he can control maharashtra sitting in Delhi. Fadnavis though a former protege of Gadkari is seen as a compromise candidate between the munde and gadkari factions. The equation boils down to this Modi and Amit Shah v Gadkari and RSS and local Maharashtra leaders. Its going to be extremely difficult for Fadnavis to govern if indeed he is chosen. The equation has turned for Modi and Amit shah. If they go with Fadnavis and a minority government the likes of Khadse and the Gadkari faction will made functioning for him extremely difficult. There will be rebellions from within. BJP mlas in the Gadkari faction failing to turn up on time for votes etc. If Modi wants Fadnavis that much he will need the sena numbers for a fuller government. The flipside to that is do you really want Uddhav Thakarey whispering in the ear of Punjaka munde and her faction within government? The truth is Amit Shah and Modi have backed themselves in a corner. Give Fadnavis the CM chair he will be a lame duck. He wont eat money but he wont be able to govern effectively. Give it to the Gadkari faction the Munde faction might go as far as defecting to the Sena. It also makes Nitin Gadkari and extremely powerful politicain within the BJP and a threat to Modi himself. I think all factors considered Modi should go for the Gadkari faction. They will atleast be able to govern the state well. It will be a set back to the power of Modi within the BJP. Dont just look at the numbers. The quality of seats does matter as well. Look at the allies of the BJP in this election. They won 1 seat out of 31. Why? Cause they were **** seats. All 4 of them are extremely unhappy with the BJP. Will be surprised if all 4 remain. Raju shetti rumour has it is looking towards the Sena as a partner after being blanked. Lets see what happens on the Gadkari front. Punjaka Munde is too young. The truth is this is why you dont want the shiv sena in government. I think he is regretting going with the BJP. The rumour in mumbai is he said the baniya (shah) sold him dud seats. No wonder he is asking for ministerial berths. Its a question of staying relevant for him. The general treatment of allies in maharashtra by the BJP has been a disgrace. They have won 0 friends. The track record does not make for good reading. Dumped the sena. Then the small parties that went with them get 1 out of 31. All very short sighted...... as i said before. The BJP will have their 5 years. There are some rumors going and not of them is true. Different leaders will try to pitch themselves for CM post. Nothing to worry, happens many times before as well. And your bold part is laughable. If Sena got the CM chair, BJP in MH would have no scope to grow. Even without any power, Sena was very arrogant and made many indecent comments about BJP. Their ego would have sky rocketed had they got CM. Thankfully, BJP realized such implications and have completely changed the equation in MH. Exactly, however the point is if bjp does good work in these 5 years and proves worthy in public ' s expectations than they won't need ally, IMHO in 5 years it will either be end of regionalism in india barring few states or emergence of few strong leaders which can challenge bjp, I hope for the sake of this country the 1st part happens coz for stronger and developed india regionalism has to extinct and nationalism needs to rise only than we can think of development.
