In the bid' date=' the Board seeks to appoint a [b']'reputed company of international standing' to acquire the web portal rights from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011.
Makes me proud to say there are a dozen such companies, if not more, right in our backyard :yay: Also makes me cynical to say BCCI wont find a single one of these

I thought they already appointed someone to design their website like two years ago. Yet nothing's been done
Yes. They had assigned Wipro and Microsoft. Read Prem Panicker's comment on this: In July last year, the BCCI asked for bids from Microsoft and Wipro for building and hosting its website.

Both parties will submit their final financial schedules for the web portal Aug 14. The winner will be chosen the same day, it said.

‘The selection will be undertaken by Accenture, which was recently appointed by the BCCI as the nodal agency for advice and consultation on the final selection of the web portal in an objective manner,’ the statement said.
The selection will be made under the supervision and guidance of the BCCI marketing sub-committee, which will be a partner in the running and maintenance of the portal.

That deadline came, and went, and nothing was heard further on the subject, until this:

Panned for claiming to be professional and still not having a portal of its own, the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Monday invited bids for its website.

In the bid, the Board seeks to appoint a ‘reputed company of international standing’ to acquire the web portal rights from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011.

Since Microsoft and Wipro, earlier invited by the board itself, clearly lack international standing, the current round of bidding is perfectly understandable; sort of like the BCCI’s ongoing search for a coach, after 22 applicants were found “unsuitableâ€, Graham Ford decided he liked the frying pan too much to jump into the fire, and Dav Whatmore made the mistake of being “too eagerâ€. Interestingly, Microsoft is good enough for the BCCI’s poor country cousin, the ICL—which has launched its website with that company’s support.
