gattaca Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 NEW DELHI: A magnitude 5.8 earthquake rattled eastern Indian on Wednesday night. The epicentre of the earthquake is said to be in the Bay of Bengal. No tsunami alert has been issued. There are no reports of damage as of now. Tremors were felt in Bihar's Gaya, Ranchi, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar,Vishakhapatnam. Tamil Nadu capital was also rattled by the earthquake. BlackMamba Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 5.8 is a LOT for India. Given the structural integrity of the buildings in India, 5.8 will bring down quite a few. I guess the saving grace was, epicenter was somewhere in Bay Of B and not on land.
