Insidious
Sydney has been changed since then. It would be faster than Melbourne. It is no longer the "subcontinent" type pitch of the old. I would say pace wise - Brisbane>Sydney>Melbourne>>Adelaide Not sure how much it changed. Ofcourse a bowling attack having harris and johnson can bring life to any flat pitch. Link to comment
BlueBee
Next match is at Gabba, it's the fastest of all. Link to comment
CG
Both Aaron and shami lack discipline. They are clearly struggling to bowl at one place. raw fast bowlers are like that aaron can be given leeway not shami he is diff type of bowler.sami has to be consistent. Link to comment
express bowling
You can't drop pacers based on 1 test. Even in this test I wanted Umesh in place of Shami. Bhuvi will most probably not recover before the 3rd test. So ... I would take Ishant, Aaron and Umesh in the 2nd test. Link to comment

HOW MUCH LEEWAY?!! Aaron has bowled 23 overs for 136 runs at a rate close to 6 an over! That is not leeway that is handing the match to your opposition on a tray. Lets not forget the confidence boosting spell he had with the new ball that got Warner going. Link to comment

Yes, Shami neither has pace nor discipline. You can afford only one such bowler. Aaron with his pace should get the nod at least on pitches like Gabba and MCG. Link to comment

Aaron to warner ,if u watched the plan was to bowl full early looking for swing and warner played shots on the rise of good balls .Warner is that type of player. The thing is aaron creates chances out of blue we can afford one such bowler as consistent pace is rare and line and length can eb worked upon he is just in to 4 th test.Shami on the other hand looks unfit he is laboring and not getting zip and lost his consistency seems he lost motivation and is happy with odi performances. Check out past records of test matches in Adelaide. How good bowlers have fared here . It is a batting paradise where even touring Indian teams have piled on runs in the past. Link to comment
bharat297
So do you think the Aussie bowlers are going to go at 6 an over? Link to comment
bharat297
We certainly have the batting firepower to score that quickly (Kohli, Dhawan, Rohit, etc) if give a chance by the Aussie bowlers Link to comment

He doesn't hit the stumps and bowls too many freebies!! Link to comment

In the past 3 years, this has been Australia's bowling record in Adelaide. vs. India 2012 - 272, 271 vs. RSA 2012 - 388, 8/248 vs. Eng 2013 - 172, 312 England in 2010 bowled Australia out for 245 and 304 in Adelaide. It is a batsman's paradise but disciplined bowling attacks can bowl teams out if they bowl well. Link to comment

bharat297
So you showed 3 matches in which one was a boring draw after 148 overs and overlooking 10 other matches where huge runs were scored. I showed the last 4 years of Tests in Adelaide. The fact that one was a boring draw is irrelevant. Australia still managed to take 18 out of a possible 20 wickets on that flat deck boring drawn Test. I don't understand how you are even arguing about this. It's mind boggling how you can even defend India's bowling after their performance yesterday. With fans like this, India deserve to be the mediocre team that they are. Link to comment

Ideally in this type of pitch you need 5 bowlers, with atleast 2 bowlers who can bat. Alas we don't have any allrounders barring Ashwin and BK to an extent. TBH india is not good enough to face sa,eng, aus in their turf. Link to comment

Because that was the pressure of batting 2nd and last seeing huge total in front of you and still it was a draw. SA survived 148 overs in 4th innings tells you how track played. In one match, Australia needed an x-factor like Johnson to turn the table. How many teams can have a bowler like Johnson. Another match of India series. It is better you do not talk about that. That series no bench mark to judge Adelaide pitch. Link to comment
