There has been so much whining about the Trent Bridge pitch

English commentators and former cricketers couldnt stop going on about how slow it is and how there is no help for seamers BUT these are exactly the type of pitches we play at home all the time, perhaps even worse. Spare a thought for our seamers who have to slog endlessly on dead pitches with no bounce, pace or seam movement and in hot weather and high humidity and many average batsmen score tons and tons of runs and inflate their averages which they don't deserve. Imagine how many potentially good pacers we would have lost over the years because they would have lost confidence in themselves or got injured toiling away for days on these dead tracks We are a batsmen worshipping country because our idols were Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar and in the process, we have given second hand treatment to our seamers and pacers over the years.

Here is what Boycott said about the pitch : ""If we keep getting pitches like this one our fast bowlers will be midgets by the end of the summer -- or injured. We want pitches with pace and seam movement. If England get outplayed then we need to put our hands up and say that is our fault but we should back ourselves to beat India in English conditions. You have to believe in yourself," he added. Why can't this logic apply in India ? Why do we treat seamers like dirt and rarely give them conditions to do well ?

Indians pacers are bowling on worst pitches than Trent Bridge pitch, all this year's.The people should give a though to bowlers like Pankaj Singh who are bowling for the last 5-6 years on worst pitches

I doubt it was a typical sub continental pitch either. The spinners picked up 0 wickets for India. When has that last happened when India played in India?

Yes, no help for spinners but from perspective of seamers, the conditions are pretty much the same. No bounce, pace, carry, seam movement and very little swing.

No, i don't think in India especially in ranji trophy we have so flat track- pitches in hubli, rohtak, indore, mohali, cuttack, rosanara even eden gardens are green tops and very favourable to swing bowling where even trundlers look like wasim and waqar you need to put the ball in right areas and bowl 120 ks dollies in those pitches and you will get 5-fers easily. Actually this craziness of state boards to change every dustbowls into green tops has destroyed our fast bowling. prime example- eden gardens during ranji. why bowl at140 when we get 5-fers at 120? this has became the mentality of our indian fast bowlers. This destroyed indian fast bowling and the art of reverse swing.

Only a few centers in North like Lahli, Mohali could be favorable to seamers especially because the ball swings in wintry conditions. Otherwise, all the other pitches in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Vizag etc. are slow and low and spin friendly and have nothing for seamers.

These pitches are killing the interest of people in test cricket.need something in it for the fast.bowlers not just here but back home as well.I agree with the op that we are a batsmen loving country and not sentimental to the fast bowlers even guys in icf were inclined to playing with our traditional 7 batsmen,4 bowlers and not giving importance to 5 bowlers strategia which is essential nowadays to pick 20 wkts without wearing out!! Hopefully lords pitch assists the pacers,we want to see good cricket on result oriented pitches

India's pitches help the spinners but this was neither a seamer friendly pitch nor a Spin friendly. A dead pitch to say the least.
