Just cause he doesn't have a solid defense doesn't mean he cannot adapt in his own way like the hack Warner, who got a few 100's on green pitches, few 100's vs SA and in Ashes. You people need to realise Vijay was a complete hack first time in SA and full series in WI. Even combining all 3 formats overseas he didn't even have a 50 before 2013 SA tour. Dhawan has played what, 7 tests overseas... 1 hundred and a 98 in that too. Give him time, Vijay adapted in his own way, Warner adapted in his own way, Dhawan can adapt in his own way too. Gambhir got a long rope, was dropped and apparently still pokes at anything/ runs down to third man. He was getting out this way this Ranji. No point going back to him. There are only 2 options. Give Dhawan long rope or go back to Gauti, I pick Dhawan long rope.

This guy Rohit is anyways going to make less than 10 runs. Why not open with him and move Dhawan to 6 in second innings.
