great siri Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 again blatant lies,in their last 3 tours to india in the last decade, saf have drawn 2 series, lost 1 series in india.england won their 1st series after almost 30 years in india. india have lost just 3 home series in the last 25 years at home, including 6 series win vs aus(which lanka can only dream off),3 series win vs england,2 vs saf,4 vs lanka, now that is called home dominance!! sa also won their first series in srilanka after 25 years .and regarding series win vs australia ,the australian team after their legends retired in 2007 have visited india 4 times while they have visited srilanka just once after a busy tired 2011 wc .indian team downfall started in 2011 .how many ind sl series we have played in india since then ???on current form we will beat u 3-0 anywhere in world .
rkt.india Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Care to explain how your fast bowlers looked pedestrian compared to ours? you only played 2 tests, compare performance in 2 tests from pacers from both sides. BK had 2 fifers, Ishant had a 7-fer.
rkt.india Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 so?saffies are damn good travelers and i think they can beat us at home.srilanka could have easily won the second test. by the way we lost to england at home, lankans drew 1-1 This way England could have won first test and could easily have drawn 2nd. They only played two tests. If it was a 2-test series for us, we would have won the series, but unfortunately, we are not good enough to last more than 2 tests overseas in a series right now and this what is the reason, we lost 3 tests so badly after that. We are analysing just far too much about the causes why we did so badly. For me, this is the reason. They are not mentally and physically ready to play high number of tests in a row.
FreakazoiD Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 really ??? for god sake u have not won a test series in srilanka for last 25 years .even when india was the number 1 team in 2010 it was a draw 1 all after murali retired after the first game which we won .on current form except in india we can beat india in a test series anywhere in world and yes i would stick my neck out n say that . Its only Pakistan who play tests in neutral venues. An Ind-SL test series can only be held in one of two places. And you yourself are ruling out an SL victory in one of them (SL haven't even won a single test in India, let alone a series). In SL, it will be neck and neck. Your fast bowlers and batsmen (bar Sanga and Matthews)are rubbish, so unless you produce a dustbowl, you stand no chance. On a turner, you have better spinners (Herath) who can perhaps do some damage but given your fragile batting after Jaya's departure, I think it will be 50-50. So in balance, India > SL
kirisatha96 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 SL > India. On current form, Sanga and Herath will singlehandedly wipe you out. SL's pace attack hunt better as a unit. Go back to England. SL quicks proved everyone wrong and put up good performances. SL's pace attack at peak = Eranga, Lakmal and Prasad are way better than Ishant, Bhuvi and Aaron
kirisatha96 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 ^ that Prasad guy averages 50 in test cricket. He started out poorly but is gradually improving into a reliable bowler which is the story of the SL pace attack. Go back and look at the UAE and England series if you don't think he's a competent bowler.
thongale Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 you only played 2 tests' date=' compare performance in 2 tests from pacers from both sides. BK had 2 fifers, Ishant had a 7-fer.[/quote']Now you said India played on bowler friendly pitches no?:--D
div Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Broad added: “Lord’s and Headingley turned out to be really slow and both really should have been draw wickets. It will be interesting to see how this series plays out. But if they’re dry, I think India will be licking their lips with the two spinners, won’t they?” http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jul/07/stuart-broad-england-india-test-series
thongale Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jul/07/stuart-broad-england-india-test-series Yes' date=' India got tougher pitches, stats can be misleading.[/quote'] Oxymoron
div Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Oxymoron what? Sub continental batsmen batsmen like to bat on slow pitches.
Sarkar Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 sa everytime beats india in home .eng has beaten india in home .that series we were extremely unlucky due to many many incidents .20 overs were lost due to rain in the 2nd test .eranga was innjured in the 1st test .philander tampered with the balls etc etc .on current form if sa will play ind in ind in a test series they will whoop u 3 nil . Last two test series of South Africa in India was a draw what are you smoking mate if Srilanka played 5 test series then we would have seen different results but wait Srilanka are so scared to play 4 test series.
thongale Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 what? Sub continental batsmen batsmen like to bat on slow pitches. If SL had slower wickets it doesn't explain how SL fast bowlers did better than Indians. If it's the other way round the it's the turn of batsmen. You can't have it in both ways.

rkt.india Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Now you said India played on bowler friendly pitches no?:--D Yes. But both teams played first 2 tests on similar tracks. Lords pitch for SL was flat. Headingly helped seamers. Similarly In India's case, Trentbriedge was dead and Lords helped seamers. So both had one flat track, one helpful track for seamers and both teams won one game, one draw. We can only compare two tests because SL only played 2 tests. If it was also 2-test series for India, we would have won it too. More than bowling, in next 3 tests, our piss poor fielding and umpiring cost our a lot. If most of our catches were taken and plumb outs were given, situation would have been a lot better. Cook dropped at 15, went on to score 95, Bell plumb denied went on to score 150, Butler dropped on 23, went on to score 80, what can bowlers then do. You are expecting them to pick 14-15 wickets an inning.
rkt.india Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jul/07/stuart-broad-england-india-test-series Lords was slow, not Headingly. It had good pace and bounce, it was very much like Ageas Bowl. Plunket picked 5-fer here and ball always swings at Headingly.

Unlike Inidan fast bowlers these guys are lot fitter, and what ever injuries came during the series were freak injuries like split webbing or hit while net practice etc. If India had two test series English would have played it with much more intensity and results could have been very different. And Oh! don't whine on umpiring secisions, your captain and cricket board had intimidated teams not to use it, and they will be the last to complain on bad decisions. ropped catches, yesy, that is the difference. We catch and field few classes above the other SC teams. In late 90s we were up there with aussies and saffies in the field, but the standards have dropped markedly. But still leaps ahead of others in the field.

That full delivery from Plunkett in the final over before before the break, which beat Sangakkara - it actually shaved the outside edge, as his bat hit the ground. No one appealed 35.4 Plunkett to Sangakkara, no run, huge moment and another life for Sangakkara! Prior caught a big edge, seemingly went to celebrate and managed to drop the ball! It didn't go straight in but he had it against his chest, wasn't quite sure where it had gone and in parting his gloves shelled the chance 51.6 Jordan to Sangakkara, 1 run, back of a length outside off, cut hard to backward point and dropped by Moeen Ali diving high to his right, I reckon that should have been taken. It was more of a guide than a full-blown cut, another chance goes begging off Sangakkara
thongale Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 So what does it prove? England took a magic pill to sort out their catching? :hysterical: Same inept lot is playing against India, but thrashing you right left and center.
