Going by results, I'd see Sri Lanka as the current best. They have beaten England which India have failed to do. They've won the Asia Cup and T20WC in Bangladesh. They're currently whooping butt in the current Pakistan series. If they win 2-0, they will got to #4 in the Rankings.

Can't really compare that to a 5 match series.

They deserve to be ranked where they are for now. But I Still think India will beat them the next time they play. we have seen what rohit, kohli, pujara and co can do on Asian pitches.

Next India-SL tests (if it happens) in Sl would be in Pallekele and Hamabantota on screaming green wickets. Love to see how trundlers will be doing against each other on helpful; pitches.

I think in the SC, India are a tough side to beat. I would stick my neck out and say India will beat SL in the SC (and we won't be playing tests outside, so who's to say who's better?)

People need to remember Jaya is finished, and Sanga may be done in a year or so. Herath is 35. While SL may be winning at home against Pak, we might see a period of decline in SL cricket over the next 3-4 years. I haven't been impressed by any of the SL young guns, especially the batters. Similar situation to India there TBH.

outside SC- srilanka no doubts.not that they are good team away from home but they are atleast competent and lose after fighting hard rather chickening like india under 3 days and losing by an innings. in SC- india till now but have to see how we perform against saf,srl at home

What must be remembered is that India also played well and fought brilliantly for the first two matches, and it would have been interesting (if rather a long summer) if SL had also played 5 Tests as the score after 2 Tests v SL was the same as after the first 2 Tests v India Only then could I personally have made a fair comparison between SL and India. Unfortunately we don't see a lot of SL over here as their matches are never televised, even by Sky who show NZ, SA, India, Australia and WI home series

That Sri Lanka series could easily have ended up 1-0 the other way. They were 9 down in the first test and we were two balls away from drawing the 2nd. That's what happens in a 2 tests series you always risk an upset.
