CG Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 FTR Hyderabadi Biriyani is massively over-hyped. Yet its probably the only good thing about Hyderabad. Yup now u get the connection with Dhoni. FTR Hyderabadi Biriyani is massively over-hyped. Yet its probably the only good thing about Hyderabad.
CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 What security aspect? Why would it hassle the local police? What am I missing? The police are supposed to conduct a test on the home made Biriyani? Lol, the link itself had it While it could not be independently confirmed whether Taj eventually allowed Dhoni and his men their biryani feast, security experts pointed to the risk of moving an entire team to a new hotel in a matter of hours. Grand Kakatiya had 180 rooms booked for teams, support staff, and board officials. The local police had checked the hotel and sanitized it. It must have been a nightmare for them to make fresh security arrangements at Taj," an official of another Champions League team, who did not wish to be identified, said. So it was not only about biryani you know
CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 trivial matter blown out of proportion; besides all those who are critical of Dhoni let me ask them are you tell me not once if your life have walked off a store or restaurant even when in your heart you know its you or the people you are out with who are at fault. Off the field Dhoni stood up for a team mate/ friend i absolutely back him cause i would have done the same. Leaving hotel for a silly thing is just as silly as hotel not allowing them to get outside food. Hotel took a stand good for them and its absolutely within their right;as long as they do the same with a group of goras who try something similar. Again ignoring the fact that for such a high profile cricketers it is not just about walking out if one is unhappy. It involves wasting times of hundreds of security experts and local police. There is a huge responsibility which comes with a captain who wields so much power and the person is expected to be above this. Not to mention moving on such short notice is definitely a situation most security teams will want to avoud
CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 part of their job description. Police gets paid for this by the franchise Still doesn't forgive the fact the moving on short notice is something which is completely banned by security agencies. And one man's ego seems more important than endangering his team mates Money solves everything, does it? Do you know how much is invested in keeping team's safe and how far ahead security situations are planned? Moving like this causes security to improvise which is the worst possible scenario. Do you think they can do the same thorough job in few hours which they did for days and months in advance? But hey again one man's ego is more important

On the contrary, the prime objective of security agencies are to ensure instantenous movement - esp in an emergency. :cantstop: As I said, its part of their job description and they are getting paid good money for that. Yes it involves efforts, and that's why they are getting paid!

My understanding was BCCI pays for police security, even if they moved some security guys made some overtime at BCCI's expense whats the problem ?

Precambrian Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Wht is the big deal about "moving security guys"? As if they are some sort of diamonds or gold? Lol! All they need is to pack their stuff in a dussel bag and put it in a truck. Its not as if Dhoni relocated from Washington DC to New Delhi on a fine morning! All it takes is a few minutes drive down the same town! Jeez, the extent to which people go and micro analyse! And better, they get paid for that. And moreover a sudden change in residence also reduces chances of attack by a huge percentage since it also disrupts the plans of people whoever targeted it and made elaborate plans.

First off read what i wrote i very clearly said i found moving out of hotel silly. My understanding was BCCI pays for police security, even if they moved some security guys made some overtime at BCCI's expense whats the problem ? Dude, these hotels are scrubbed days in advance. The plans are finalized months in advance. A haphazard job done on short notice can be no where near as effective and will be a nightmare for security.
G_B_ Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 who the hell does dhoni think he is? atleast manic will be happy as slowdu is now guaranteed part of the india team

So basically monthly of advance planning yet the security team did not plan a backup hotel which they could move the team to without any hicups if needed ?
King Tendulkar Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 So basically monthly of advance planning yet the security team did not plan a backup hotel which they could move the team to without any hicups if needed ? Indeed cant believe security did not have biryani contingency plan! Dhoni such a spoilt diva, behaving like classic neta Scum
CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Wht is the big deal about "moving security guys"? As if they are some sort of diamonds or gold? Lol! Who the hell is talking about moving security is the problem? As you would know, a high profile IPL team can always be the target of terror. IPL itself has been targeted once or twice. In such high profile cases this is how security works 1) They have the schedule months in advance. They study the complete layout of the hotel, identify which entry/exits can be the most vulnerable ones. Based on the layout, they choose which rooms to give to their agents and places from where they can take action at once. Most vulnerable positions will have extra security fitted and CCTVs installed or monitored more often 2) They conduct mock drills and training in the new place. Attack is coming from this gate, how do you repel, etc? This might be actual drills or just instructions 3) With the help of the local police, they use bomb detectors and sniffer dogs and go through each room, lobby, inch of the hotel to make sure everything is ok 4) They do a background check of hotel employees. Has someone joined recently? Can he be an undercover agent, etc There is a lot of planning and work involved behind keeping a team safe. After all, terrorists plan months in advance, so security team needs to be one step ahead of them. A sudden movement throws all that plan out. Yes, they will always have a plan B, but it will be no where near as effective as something which they prepared for. And if you study historically whenever a celebrity has been attacked, most of the time it is because of their own foolishness which caused security to fail. Might have been a sudden change of plan or disappearing without informing security
Precambrian Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 MTC , seriously people are having a laugh at your assertions macha.
CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 So basically monthly of advance planning yet the security team did not plan a backup hotel which they could move the team to without any hicups if needed ? As I said, they only move when the current place is more dangerous than the alternative. A biryani definitely doesn't constitute an emergency. And Plan B is always going to be more vulnerable than plan A. You can/should always have a plan B, but your effort and money and practice would mostly be involved in plan A, wouldn't it? Plan B is only in emergencies when Plan A has been compromised (and no biryanis don't count)
CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 MTC ' date=' seriously people are having a laugh at your assertions macha.[/quote'] Could you reply to my points please?
Precambrian Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Could you reply to my points please? Sure macha, once am done laughing at those.
jf1gp_1 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Indeed cant believe security did not have biryani contingency plan! Dhoni such a spoilt diva, behaving like classic neta Scum No what i see is a sportsmen kind of attitude which mean wont accept defect no matter what. Yes moving hotel was taking it a bit to far but i am not buying the security concern etc. Again this is a trivial matter blown out of proportion however this episode will make it to the list of reason of those who already want Dhoni to be dropped from the team. I view it as a captain backing his player and if it means appearing like an *****hole so be it.
